Is there a CPU & GPU monitor for the steam overlay?
OR something similar that anyone can recommend? I only use one screen, so being able to pull up speeds and temps etc would be handier than what I currently do, which is ALT tab to a separate monitor that came with my PC.

I'm not 100% sure I understand your request but I'm going to say this anyways: this is clearly what the task manager and the resource monitor have been created for. Those are two of the basic Windows tools.

He wants to have a little bit of text superimposed on to his screen somewhere that just shows his current GPU usage/temp and CPU usage/temp, instead of having to alt tab to things like Task Manager and Resource Monitor.

@OP If you're using an Nvidia GPU with Geforce Experience updated to the most recent version, then press Alt+R at any point to bring up a small overlay that displays FPS, Highest FPS, Render Latency, CPU Utilization and GPU utilization

I use a small program called "Core Temp" for this. It shows me all those infos in my task bar. I don't know of a program which do that as an overlay tho.

As for not having to tab out, both resource manager and resource monitor can log in their reports.

Core Temp is definitely useful for extensive information, same with things like HWmonitor. For just a lightweight small overlay though there's absolutely heaps of apps/programs, 100's, you can even just use a widget to do it.
As said though, if you have an Nvidia GPU, then the software for that comes inbuilt with an overlay containing that information, that can be accessed at any time with ALT+R.
Having resource monitor generate reports doesn't really help with wanting to have that information readily available in real time.

MSI Afterburner bundled with RTSS
when you start Afterburner it also loads RivaTuner where you can overclock your GPU or just output temps/usage in top corner of your screen.
if on Linux you can use mangohud or "DXVK_HUD=1 %command%" in steam launch param.

IF you have another monitor why don't you just use it in extend mode and drag your sensor to it. Not sure why you are alt tabbing.

That's what I do. I have a game now that is really pushing my GPU so I have AIDA64 on a vertical monitor on the left side, while I play. I also use it to watch movies while I game.

I use alienware command center that has a overlay showing CPUI%, GPU%, memory used, and game FPS. It's small enough I can drag it top right on my games and it locks and stays while the game runs
