66 age now, I'm an "old" fan of MMORPG since DAoC.
Ofc, my finger can't fly as past but still enjoy few of RPG games.
If you love and enjoy, there's no "too old" anymore... my 2 cents.
I don't know why this myth still persists as frankly with the level of popularity it has now, eclispses films and other media, why this still prevails is beyond me.
Also, who do they think MAKES these games? Kids?
it goes from generation to generation like superstition. if someone never played games in their life and has only image of gamer from memes such person would consider gaming as a toy for kids or bad habit for adults.
some people have addictive personality and would consider gambling, gaming, drinking - anything that can rub their addiction the wrong way - as bad activities. don't expect them to say the real reason though, they would rationalize "games aren't for adults" and such.
my mother despises games, says gaming isn't for adults, I'll become zombie etc. I say her the same when she watches her soaps :) so we're good and I'm an adult so I can do whatever I want.
Damn ... I loved DAoC before all the changes. I tried playing it again earlier this year and wow, couldn't play it at all.
Look, I've been playing games since the mid 70's and it never got old. Why should I?
