How much (approximate) does it cost to get to level 100?

I'm considering spending money to get my steam level higher; how much money will it cost me to get to level 100?

Please don't write about how it doesn't matter, I only want to to read on-topic responses.

you need 55,000 XP for level 100, so ignoring free XP like amount of time in steam summer monster badges etc thats 550 badges. assuming the average cost of a badge is 50p thats £275

I think it's 55,000XP to level 100, you have something like 4,200XP, no? So you still need 50,800XP. With each card set level being worth 100XP, that's 508 card set levels. Assuming you're doing this 100% with money and not buying games or getting drops, and only going with games with 5 cards per set, average price of 10¢/card, that's $254. You can do it MUCH cheaper buy dropping cards in games, selling any foil drops, dropping boosters, selling backgrounds and emotes, and so forth. But, purely spending money, and levelling in a day, ~$254.

wow ~250 that is lot of $.10/card, i'm many years away from hitting 100, getting to 50 is hard enough cause as you level up it takes more nad more xp to get to next level. i guess when you get to level100 you have more chances of getting free boosters that you could sell to make you money back;)

assuming you get a free booter per month and that you can make $.15 from selling the booter it will take ~1,666.666666666667 boosters to make your money back in 138.8888888888889 years...

on the other hand it will take just 110 games in your library that drop cards assuming you will evel each game to level 5. so i bet you can cut the cost by buying bunch of dirt cheap $0.19 games and then go buying the cheap cards to the cheap games.

im not sure its worth it, cause as i have shown other than having 100 on your badge it will take longer than a lifetime to make the money back

better i think to buy games and have fun, than to have 100 in profile. plus when you finally get to level 100 you realize that there still lots of members with higher levels. so its not like you have highest level anyways

Don't forget to factor in Foil drops, which can be worth 5 regular cards or more, as well as backgrounds and emotes, some of which can sell for well over $1, as well as booster pack creation from gems crafted from worthless backgrounds and emotes, all of these things can defray costs substantially.
