Yes. I bought games on steam that I already owned on xbox. Looking back I regret purchasing the same games twice as I don't play them anymore and my xbox died.

I do that many times, i have more then one account, and also played some games on CD back in the time, or have them on a Floppy disk, so i like to sometimes buy these games here so i can go back and play them again when i want to do so..
And at times, i just love the game, so buy it again to support the Dev (I think i own portal 2 like 3-4 times all ready...)

What do you mean by pirated?

pirating is a choice
basically everyone can pirate anything,

it is just a matter of principle, or to be a better person respecting other people's ownership.
here in Steam, people respects those rights

It actually turns out that a lot of those pirates are potential customers with a willingness-to-pay value that's just lower than the previous going rate for games but still significantly greater than zero.

i mean to say that if they pirated a game and then bought it then they most likely had guilt related reason
