Ban Evasion
So, what's the point of banning people and moderation when they can just bypass bans and create another account to just keep right on posting again? Maybe apply the ban entirely to all alts and future accounts. Of course, someone will say "Erm akshually 🤓☝ you can't do that!".

Another reason why these forums honestly shouldn't exist. Too many loopholes and failures on their part.

Where is the suggestion?

I mean I totally agree, but the 'how' is the harder part. IP tracking isn't a viable option and people can just use dummy emails so actually tracking which accounts are alts with objective evidence rather than just extremely obvious circumstantial evidence is the main hurdle.

If they ban evade to not violate the rules, who cares. If they ban evade and violate the rules, report them again.

i know you technically don't need to spend any money to start posting, but a lot of people who are constantly ban evading do it anyway so that the numbers name will go away + they won't have limited posts per day. doubt valve is complaining about how much money these addicts are giving them to keep posting on the forum after they get banned

You'd need a mod that can take time, Quality over Quantity.
Extremely easy with enough privileges and time to look over something to hold people abusing multis accountable for their behavior.

All one would have to do is report anyone abusing such to Valve and let them take further action. Easily done, little cost.

How you want to check I mean if it's linked to the same mail sure, however how to check if they register it on an unrelated mail address not linked to anything else? I mean burner email addresses are hardly difficult to come by.

There are many ways to identify the same people. No owner, administrative, global mod etc would be willing to tell others that as some might try harder to evade detection.

Loads of it is something almost none could evade. If people think it's easy to evade detection, they're very, very wrong. There's a reason why some have received warnings from support that they're aware of accounts, ban evasion etc.

The main problem is how much time you spend on this I mean it detracts time from other tasks …

It takes a short amount of time for an experienced person. Doing so would also reduce the amount of long-time workload needed dealing with the same people over & over with regular moderation.

Steam knows who is using alts.

It's just the regular reactive-only large social site moderation experience.

But how the Valve people would have fun then?

More evidence that not all criminals go to jail. Thanks!
