Steam Games like Zelda?
Any recommendations? I'm thinking of the 3D ones, but 2D is fine too I guess.

The problem with the 3D zeldas, especially the Switch Releases is that they are getting less and less and less zelda-like. Instead of sticking to a formula, they blend more and more elements from other games in there.

Breath of the Wild can literally be compared to Ark Survival Evolved. (open world, exploration, combat, nonsense)
And therefore yes, it can be compared to the latest Pokemon and Sonic games as well. (notice what Nintendo is doing here lol)
Mario too by the way.

Its not Zelda, its just a Zelda-skinned version of the same game essentially. In fact, Metroid is probably closer to a 3D Zelda game than Zelda itself currently.

In any case, you should mention what elements you're looking for specifically. Because the blending of the modern 3D zeldas is making it difficult to say.

(classicly, Every Mana-series game is considered Zelda-like)

I'm personally a fan of the old formula:

Top Down, Action RPG (direct action battle system) with a fully explorable map where areas, including dungeons are locked behind a new item or skill. (so with backtracking, re-exploring, discovering hidden rooms (caves) etc.)

The more visible pixels the better, but I don't mind the 3D approach.

This is what I define as a "zelda like" and yes, it includes the mana games.

I'll list a bunch:

This list feels terribly incomplete.
Also, not all Zelda Likes are properly tagged.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this series.

And an extra one

More like a Studio Ghibli game, this one.
