Is the "slow clap" award ever used ironically?
Or is it ever used to be demeaning? I know they use the jester like that, but that's all I know.

So far i only seen it used genuinly, as a clap for something someone wrote.
Basically " well said, i agree with that".

The only award that is perceived negatively by the majority of users is the jester one.

I use it a lot for something I find good...I never thought if as meaning anything negative, if it was, why would it be an award!?

I always awarded it as a "good point/well said/perfect summary or analysis"

I thought it was negative

Who can tell?

We can;t and neither can you.

The only person that knows is the person presenting it. That's how logic works.

I think the award was flawed at its inception. The description says every round of applause starts with a single clap, which is true. But a slow clap is actually a show of derision, the opposite of applause.

So basically every award is different. It depends rules on high here

One of the first non-jester-award specific complaints I’ve seen. I’d give points for originality but I’m too poor.

I've received them and I take getting it as I believe it was meant.

Pretty sure if it were meant otherwise there would be a reply to go along with it that speaks negatively.
