maybe this will get enough traction it will be considered

steam has an amazing community of players and that would transfer very well to minecraft and I prefer to only go to one place for every game (steam)

the game developer/publisher decides where their game is sold. if you want to see a game on steam, talk to that games developer/publisher about it.

I guess either the microsoft store or xbox forum.

Either way, if ever, it'll probably still require a microsoft account and that xbox app to run it.

yeah bc this is how i am asking minecraft, maybe use some critical thinking as to why i would start a thread asking people if they want minecraft on steam on steam itself

Microsoft won't see people posting here, nor care about it. It's something that gets asked often enough on these forums, on Reddit, on other places.

Microsoft knows Steam exists, they put games on here. Minecraft Dungeons is on Steam. Them choosing to not put Minecraft on here is deliberate.

The mistake you're making is thinking that just because X people say they will purchase a game on platform Y doesn't actually mean it's of interest to a company. Companies have different priorities. Keeping Minecraft away from platforms like Steam actually is such a priority. Why put your golden age game on a different store when it doesn't need the extra exposure?

Just use Prism Launcher and be grateful the scum aren't forcing the worthless "official" launcher.

as for the version you are likely wanting here on steam, you will have to ask the devs/pubs about that.

If you want to play a Minecraft clone tthen I'd suggest Luanti (formely known as MineTest)... free and open source...

i said that for years, then bought and tried it, only to find it quite enjoyable, though not something i would dedicate all my time too.

I was hoping all games would someday be on Steam. But they removed Unreal, and the Unreal Tournaments, and they also removed Duke Atomic/Megaton Edition, and Duke Nukem 1 & 2. And they removed DiRT 2 as well, and many other games.
Warhammer: Dark Omen and Clive Barker's Undying are also still missing including many other games such as the original Settler games.

But still, it would be nice to have all games supported and available. Just like books and movies, that you also want to be able to buy somewhere, long after their original release. The internet should be used for this, and Steam can be of service.
