Can Steam Workshop addons contain viruses?
I've sometimes seen weird Workshop addons uploaded (blank icon pictures with no descripotions etc.) from people who have VAC bans, private profiles, or overall not really convincing account informations. I haven't ever subscribed addons like these, but they've sometimes made me wonder if some of those kind of addons could be viruses/something else malicious, or is there any possibility for people to upload hidden virus/malware to Workshop?

I think steam has a vetting process that filters malicious software from being uploaded- I have been down downloading strange looking mods like that out of curiosity for a long time.

Never got an alert or positive on my antivirus or issue, it was always just some unfinished mod or troll mod.
Yes, Even that t can change what damage it dose
Most cases it will be damage to the game it self more then the PC

Also it will matter how the Dev of the game set the limits to block things like these from been added to the game

Abut what you seen
May just be things they want for them self or share to friends, and they do not want to mess with icons and the like

BTW I think there was a case with malware on a Gmd add-on that basically created a DDoS on someone, but that may be a false rumor so take that with a grain of salt
it can but i dont thinkit can get out of the game

Probably not, I'd imagine Valve have a way of preventing malicious uploads. That being said, its not impossible. There's always a way around things.
But an actual virus or malware would likely get removed, ASAP. So what you're seeing is probably as someone above said - Something someone has created either for themselves or someone they know, and see's no need to dress it up for the workshop, because it wasn't intend for real public use anyway.
