Monster Simulator

Hey Steam community, Im trying to get the tag "Monster Simulator" started on games. Ive been looking around and its really hard to try and search for these types of games even though they seem to be well receieved by most.

This can range from things such as Evolve, Dying Lights be the zombie mode, Natural Selection 2, Primal Carnage: Extinction, Alien Vs Predator, Depth, Left 4 Dead 2 all the way to early access games like The Isle.

"Play as a monster games" didnt have the same kind of ring to it

Yeah but chucking simulator at the end of a word doesn't make it a thing.

If you really just want to tag any game that has "monsters" in it then what about "monster themed". The thing is these games are wildly different in gameplay. RTS. FPS.3rd Person etc. The running theme is the fact they have "monsters" in them.

The other issue i see is you will run it a bit thin as 100s of games have aliens, monsters, zombies, sci fi/horror/fantasy creatures in them.

Monster themed is too broad as all these games have you play not just as a monster but feel as if you are actually playing as that type of creature rather than just the heaploads of steam crap games that have monsters running around as a humanoid type monster shooting stuff which is 50% of the games that would be found in the "Monster themed" tag. That or running around as a human shooting monsters which is what the other 50% would be made up of.

Dungeons 2 and Monster loves you are both great games and Lord Revan the point of tags is to be able to filter down the amount of games found so that you can find the select handful of games your actually looking for.

Though that sounds more like a curator thing than tag-worthy.
This is less a game description but more a feature. Like replay, foto mode, server browser, ...

"Asymetric Multiplayer" might be more of an idea here.

I didnt mind how it was done i just thought really there needed to be a way to find these types of games as i know others that have gone looking for them and found it too hard trying to search throught all the steam junk will no real way of filtering out everything else and tagging was the first thought that came to mind.

All of which are entirely valid tag prospects, just like other "features" that are already tags, like multiplayer, local co-op, female protagonist, moddable, nudity, permadeath, level editor, 3D vision, touch-friendly, etc.
