Fixing {LINK REMOVED}
Recently my site (in my display name) has been replaced with {LINK REMOVED} when shown within Steam (our group, chats, etc).

I would assume this is because some of our users have been actively trying to refer their friends to our site to get extra entires into our daily giveaway.

We have altered the messaging on the site to advise our users to NOT post their link to any unsolicited place on Steam, or elsewhere. We're hoping this curbs any potential issues.

If one of the Steam moderators could please fix this for us, we'd appreciate it.

i think the link is removed for a good reason
I'm not sure what the reasons are...none have been provided to me. I can only assume that our users are spamming others with their referral links...which I agree is completely unacceptable. We're doing everything we can to limit this (banning them from our site if they're caught doing this).
The reason when I hover says: The URL that was linked here has been removed by our filters. Usually this is done to prevent phishing and malware attacks.

I can assure everyone that in no way, shape, or form...are we associated with any phishing or malware. Our users spamming their referral links against our wishes? Yes. Phishing/malware? Absolutely not.

That'll happen. I think they can fix it so anything after LM.com is is filtered into hearts so it would appear as www.LM.com/*****/**** . Otherwise you'd probably have to remove the referal feature. I'm not sure about the chat link filter though.

That'd be fantastic if they can just block anything after the .com. I don't want our users spamming referral links either. They've been advised not to but there's only so much we're able to control.

If this remains a problem moving forward, even with the more aggressive "DO NOT SPAM YOUR LINK", we'll likely get rid of this feature all together. Thanks for the reply CharlestONE!

No problem. If a mod doesn't answer here, you may want to contact one here http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/moderators . But as I sid before I don;t know if their forum filter list is the same as the chat one or if they have control over it.

As far as I can tell only your referal program is blocked.

Refferals for anything = Spam
Solution: Dont use refferals or your site will be censored
Even if its a giveaway site or gambling site etc...
