Enshrouded/Promotion?/How promotion works??
Hello, Enshrouded in my country is too expensive!!!
Im trying wait for the game have a promotion by 50%, because here, the price of the game is 100,02 in my currency, that means 1/9 of all month salary(near 930 here), Steam is just using Dollars and converting, its 20$ Dollars, but as Dollar is about 5x MORE than my coin, you know what happens... And i cant afford it.

How can i know if the game will have a promotion? i saw only 4 promotions until now, but was only 20%, in all.
The way steam make promotions is random? follows events? how they do?. For example, some games have better promotions, somes dont. So i cant expect the game to have a 50% promotion as didn't have any yet?.

Or the promotion is not Steam side, but, developer side? i never understand how the promotion goes.
I wanna this game so much, since he launched, im just listening the news and watching updates, and the game from youtube. I hope we get a promotion by 50%, because i really wanna play this.

i appreciate if someone knows how the promotion works, and can explain!! :))

It's easy.

> Wait for a sale
> Buy the game
> ???
> Profit

Not more to it than that.

This is not the developer's fault.

Your issue is that the developers actually want to be paid for their game. It sucks for you but can you actually blame them?

The game initially came out Jan 2024, if you want a high promotion that the Developer makes, you might be waiting a very long time.
There's also that they may be using a good amount of Enshrouded income to fund Space Engineers 2, so if that's also the case you only have 1 solution;

Prepare to wait for a significant amount of time for a sale. Prices, promotions etc are up to the Developer.

Developers choose when, if, and for how much the game goes on sale for. So when or if it will be 50% no one knows.

...and a lot of countries int he world have extremely weak currencies. Those currencies do not put money in the developers pockets when adjusted, so you pay the equivalent of what the developer wants their profit margin to be on a sale.

And if this profit is simply not affordable, then one should reflect on oneself and be like: "Do I need a game that will ruin me financially?"

And the answer is: well ... we can all pretty much guess the answer to this one.

You wrong. A lot games try fit others country currency, and they dont lose money, they EARN money. You are thinking wrong. They are not gaining money from my country, if they dont try fit the country currency. Is not how its works.
Its totally dffferent.

Now proft is different from No Money.
When they try fit the currencies, more peoples will try buy, so more money will come from my country, this also means MORE profit. You just dont live in other place, or just have a poor mind thats cant think enough.

At some point the difference in currency is so one sided, that yes, a developer could lose money in the transaction. There are also many fees and taxes associated with a sale and transfer of money, especially out of country.

It is never as simple as matching another countries currency.

I agree, but im not talking about making the game so less priced, im talking about a having different prices for different currencies, not only using dollar.
Here the dollar is 5x More, and even they make the game Half 1/2, they still gain money, as ALL THE OTHERS industries do here. Im talking about South America, Paraguay, Argentina, etc. They have proft.
What the other guys said, is just blame, he doesnt even thought about other places. He just said all others places are poor and the developer dont want make a game to lose money here :)), he just said that our country doesnt metter, even if we expend money in games a lot :D.
Anyway, ill just ignore just type of answers from now, and try see the only ones who is really talking about, or trying answear what i asked.

Quite the verbose declaration, especially from someone whose government has effectively blocked the possibility of purchasing Early Access titles like Enshrouded at a mere fraction of their eventual cost ...

It's a simple reality. Either you accept the circumstances and move on, or consider emigration*. The price is fixed, and no amount of discussion will change that. We've been debating this since people first started prioritizing their finances over leisure, and we'll likely continue to do so. (Well, no we but you people.)

* If this is beyond your means, then fretting over the cost of a video game, which is undeniably a luxury item - still - should be the furthest thing from your mind.
