Unwarranted and unjustified EA ban
Hi, so I need your help and opinions on what suddenly happened to my EA account. I have never had a problem with EA games whatsoever. I never illegally downloaded or nothing of sorts. Few months ago I purchased Battlefield while there was a promotion 100% free on steam (back when it had terrible reviews) but never played it. A couple of months later I saw articles saying that the game was getting better and players were coming back to it so I decided to give it a try.

As soon as I launched it there was a message saying that my account was perm banned with no explanation. I thought it had to be a glitch but, to my suprise I was actually banned from all online EA games!

I tried to reach out to EA and after reviewing my case (two weeks) they only answered that the ban was justified and that there is no unbanning..ever, with no other explanation.

I tried to speak to someone and after reviewing the "ban department" they gave me the same answer! I asked for an explanation but after begging the guy on the phone for at least a reason for this unwarranted, unjustified and unfair ban to all their games, he said "the only thing I can tell you is that it has something to do with cheating"!

I swear that I have never cheat on any games, I wouldn't even know how to do it!

So now I'm left with this frustrating feeling of injustice and I can't play any online EA games.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like someone else has access to your account.

Battlefield uses Easy Anti Cheat.
They don't ban people from online play until they actually play and cheat seemingly. It makes no sense to be banned at launch unless someone else used your account to play and cheat.

Edit:

I think you're confusing a ban with a suspension.

That's the only explanation I can figure. But who, how, why?

It’s happened to a lot of people’s EA accounts on Apex Legends due to 2 factor authentication not being enabled.

This is a user forum. We are users just like you. Even if this was a ban from this platform, we still couldn't do anything about it. However, you're talking about a ban on the EA app. We certainly can't do anything about that.

If you weren't using the account when the ban was applied, that still doesn't matter. The policy is the same for all of these platforms. You are responsible for the security of your account and you are responsible for any actions on the account.

Simple. To get the account banned. As for the who and how, that's something that you will have to figure out.

The EA app has 2FA just like most other platforms. However, just like before, it is your responsibility to make sure that it is enabled.

Why are you here when this is an EA App account issue? When I have an issue with their app I go to their forums.

Besides, something smells fishy about this. I'm thinking you aren't being 100% honest about this.

EA has less chance of catching actual cheater than someone's chicken actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out a golden egg. You have to be using a very archaic or obtuse cheat to get caught like that.

Likely gaining sympathy, just as the same who post in the vac forums. Personally I'd contact the ones who can handle the ban (EA) but that would be based on the fact of not cheating. EA likely has the data on their end showing otherwise.

For the folks asking why someone who bought a game on Steam that requires the background use of a 3rd party launcher:

Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA online activation and EA app software installation and background use required. Denuvo Anti-tamper

Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account

Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA
Battlefield™ 2042 EULA

Seems perfectly reasonable to ask in the Steam forums

It's not the EA app that I launch my games from.. Besides I'm asking here because I thought I could rely on a helpful game community, which for the most part is.. Nothing fishy about asking your opinion on a situation I don't understand..
