Anyone here just use an older version of windows 10 cause of the forced Co-pilot AI they added?
Seriously first was their stupid forced updates for home owners who don't ever take their computers or laptops anywhere and have the money to actually pay for their own internet and now without our approval they added in AI to our machines like it's their's. Legit just downloaded an older iso, forget internet password and then used winaero teaker to stop all updates. Have been enjoying life for months now without Microsoft trying to screw me over. all steam games work perfectly fine but wanted to know what does the community normally do now, i heard linux is becoming popular now and what about proton?

Me, I'd ditch the tin foil and stop worrying so much

I just disable it and move on with life.
MonkehMaster 18/mai./2024 às 10:29
no need for simply disabling, just remove it from the OS and move on.

also why do you need to make so many threads, within the last few hours?

Microsoft Co-Pilot is completely optional, all you have to do is disable it like I did.

I allow Windows to update maybe once a quarter, unless there's an actually serious security bulletin.

Deciding they had the right to force updates and "features" was one of the first in a long line of outrages. Though I do blame brainless mobile users enabling and normalizing that crap just as much as I do the Microdicks. No way I'm ever registering an account and using the worthless UWP store, either.

Did you change ownership permission and delete the data to free up space, too?

Just don't click the button and type your secrets into the box. That's all you have to not do. You can even right click the taskbar and tell it to hide the button so you don't accidentally click it.

Yes, I did those as well.

I already use Plasma Kubuntu on my newer systems.

I'm only keeping Windows 10 around until end of life. There are hacks and workarounds for most of Microsoft's BS, but they've only doubled down on them with 11, so it's not really worth the effort hacking Windows into a usable state or getting a LTSC licence key.

Im legit just laughing every time i see ppl complain over microsoft and windows for this ♥♥♥♥ because there is such and easy solution to their invasive privacy spying agenda, its called Linux.

You do not own ur own machine or anything on it when u use windows, same like if u for example play WoW and isntall their app to be alowed to write in the dungeon finder, by default that allows them accesss to, and ownership of everything file, image and all data on ur drive u isntall it to.
This can then be sold to third partys and whatnot. They circumvent privacy laws all the time and dont think u should own ur own self. A lot of these apps does this and u keep installing them.
Facebook sells private messages to Netflix. If u dont know what that will lead to, watch the show Black Mirror, ull know it then u get to that episode (every episode is a standalone referering to real life events).

In all reality we prob dont own our machine regardless of what system we put on it, just like we dont own out own bodies once we are born and given a sosicla security number (slave nb) but hey, we must do what we can to protest and object where we can, and that starts with removing windows as the toxic piece of spyware it is, and replace it with Linux.

Its perfectly posible to play on Linux now, in fact ur machine and games will run better on Linux.
Sure a few titles dont work on Linux, yet at least, but like 90% does.
And sure u might not be able to play it on 4kx4x graphics with futuristic performance stats that u just have to have when ur a top streamer which is completely unecesary and hardly improves on anything.

But u can play with fire or u can put it out and eat an ice cream instead:)

This pretty much sums up my response to this

i will use linux but right now i don't have time to learn the new intricacies, besides windows 10 2020 or 2021 iso with winaero and deleting all the bloat works fine.

lol the losers who actually buy a windows 11 key just for entertainment make me lol, even windows 10 is not worth it in my opinion cause of how slow this piece of garbage is. Heck only reason i'm using windows 10 is cause a bastard messed up my windows 7 ultimate 64 bit laptop

I use an older version of W10, yes, but for different reasons. I disabled updates right after installing it.

Hello,
Proton supports nearly every game on Steam, even if it hasn't been tested by Valve firsthand. The only games it can't run well have got a drm or an anti-cheat built-in.

If you're going to use Linux, it's important to check the operating system to verify if it is compatible with your hardware.
You can boot most distributions from a live usb and test whether they work well from there or not.
If it works well, install the distribution, give it one week, maybe a month tops, before deciding if you wanna stick to it or jump to a different distribution.

I would personally recommend linux mint or ubuntu to you. They are distributions intended for beginners.

I just removed it from the taskbar. Which was easy. (There is a toggle for it.) then moved on with my life.
