It's pretty damn helpful to keep track of games you're wating to get lower in price. Since the special tab tends to list 100+ titles, promotions going of the frontpage and there is no better way to keep tabs on that games - I rather check my wishlist than the deals and promotions running. Especially helpful during Summer / Winter sale if a game goes down by 90% without ever being put in the spotlight.

You can link your wishlist via isthereanydeal.com and get better notifications on sales that are happening on other sites as well.

Besides the notifications there is the obvious use of keeping track of games you want but don't want to buy yet.
