Ubisoft Achievements on Steam

I recently contacted Ubisoft Support, and they said they would look into this, but no guarantees. I know there's lots of people not interested in achievements, but for anyone who is with me on this, please comment, because I really want Ubisoft to take this more seriously. thanks, Gareth

Ubisoft only really care about money which is why they came crawling back to Steam. They are fully aware of people's wishes regarding achievements but until their studios are consistent about this across all their newly released games then it's always gonna be 50/50.

That's a standard reply. You don't want to tell customers that something won't be happening, so you tell them it might be happening, although there's no roadmap or anything yet.

The thing that annoys me is why do they even bother using the steam platform then if they cannot be bothered to simply add the achievements which cost nothing. It's their loss, because many gamers like myself refuse to buy the games until they add achievements. so they would actually increase the profit. Ubisoft dont see that

Actually, it does cost them something: they need to open old projects and work on them again.

As far I can tell, they are merely using Steam as a store, nothing more. You are still playing an UPlay version of the game, not a Steam version.

Nevermind, i was just trying to get the ball rolling and hopefully get a partition for ubisoft ot be aware of. I really have tried all i can to get this noticed but will just give up now. No it wouldn't.

There's no evidence it would increase any sales.

As already reported it does cost resources to do this, and it just ain't worth their time on older games.

It's sad but that's just how it is.

i doubt they will, its like asking McDonalds to allow you to use a coupon from Walmart. they are separate entities with separate goals. don't get me wrong achievements brought a new angel to games, just when it comes to 2 different companies who only care about their own profits, to do a joint effort like what your asking for would cost money they really don't want to waste money on something that doesn't make them money. ubi cares about ubi, so i highly doubt they would care about anything at all that has to do with steam. hey i would love if achievements carried from any game i played to any other platform/launcher, but sadly i doubt its something they will do.

Terrible analogy using Wal-Mart and McDonald's and coupons when achievements can be added to be achieved on Steam. You can not get a Wal-Mart coupon to ever be redeemable at McDonald's.

Lots of people. But I'm pretty sure that if Ubisoft is willing to ignore the 8,000 comment thread asking for achievements in the AC:Valhalla forum, they'll ignore whatever petition you manage to pull together as well.

Given that their latest effort seems to be trying to convince people to buy into a UPlay subscription service rather than outright purchase games, I suspect they really don't care about what goes on with their Steam users.

Just treat this discussion as a culture/trendy way of thingy.....

Are you going to discussion/debate about, (for example) the Swatch (The Swiss Watch), why is no longer a trendy-collection watch? Pouring out all the reasons, backup with real case studies and statistic here... or maybe a collaboration between Wal-Mart/McDonald can be the best happening for everyone? (Faint)

All business owners are very practical.
Do not be naive, by asking them for this and that.
However, if a community can get their attention, it might have a chance to change their thinking/approach.

If (again) G Smith007 is going to give it try... why not just give him a support?
Rather than de-motivating him by saying you can't, you cannot this and that.
He is not asking for $$$ or anything that is extremely..... tough to perform or bad-doings, right?

Furthermore, he already contacted, and got reply from Ubisoft. So? haiz...

In short, you guys are like, you will fail, totally failure (before the actual results are out).
Better give up and do not do anything.
Do you say all these to yourself all the time? In whatever things you do?
