"Community ban" causes perman ban?
This is the second time I've received a "Community Ban" in my main account.
First time it lasted a week, just because I was temporarily ban on two games forums.
This time it was because I made a comment criticizing Diablo 4 and comparing it to BG3.
I was temporarily banned on the Diablo forum saying it was spam, then I received "Community Ban", my main account has been completely blocked for 2 weeks.

"Your Steam Community privileges have been suspended for 2 weeks because of multiple bans across several Steam Community Hubs."
"Community privileges will automatically be restored on 6 Dec"

Now am I at risk of losing my account if this happens again? or do they just increase the ban duration next time?

Imagine spending my money on this platform and losing my account for such a stupid reason, I did not commit a crime.. :steamfacepalm:

Well for one Steam doesn't delete accounts, the most you would get is a community ban that doesn't effect your games you've purchased

Secondly most people don't get banned, let alone community banned.

Third moderators do not have the ability to lock your account and prevent you from accessing games, let alone deleting your account.

They delete accounts. There's only one recorded instance of it after the user harassed, insulted, and threatened Valve employees for over a year and through various alts.

He tried to log into it one day and it just said "This account is no longer available." or something to that affect.

Yeah the account was permanently locked, not deleted though. I mean to the end user there is probably not much difference but the claim was deleting accounts, not locking them. His account got banned because he was spamming support with multiple accounts creating fake tickets to mess with them and interfering with their ability to help people and ignored multiple warnings to stop.

Yup, ONLY instance an account has 100% been shut down/locked from the user by Steam.

I thought it was actually deleted?

Nope - https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2020/06/steam-user-loses-game-library-after-valve-perma-bans-him-for-extreme-racism/

They show the message stating his account is deactivated

I still remember that article well. What a story that was.

You always run the risk of being banned entirely from steam or having your account deleted if you commit wrongthink on the forums. That's the sad reality of modern gaming. Say something that a moderator or someone finds offensive? Account closed, money stolen. One particular recent example was a guy who had his EA account erased for telling someone to shut up in an online multiplayer match. Give it another year or so and Steam will follow suit. That's why you should avoid supporting big tech companies like Valve as much as possible and ignore the bootlickers who run defense for them by saying "muh private companies can do whatever they like hur dur dur."
They don't even evaluate the case, my automated community ban. 🤡

Dude, you're only banned for 2 weeks. I was banned for 15 years 😂🤣

If you find the ban was not justified, you can always contact the support. My ban was lifted in under 2 hours.

Not surprising, you could reach out to support and try to get it overturned but I wouldn't get my hopes up. I've literally never had a single ban removed after talking to steam support. They just give a canned response that amounts to "moderators can make up rules and enforce the preexisting ones however they want. Not our problem if you get banned."

So your issue is getting banned by game hub moderators, not Steam support.

2038 is a placeholder date. It was a permanent ban.

Community bans can indeed be permanent. Simple solution is quit breaking the rules.

Stay away from the baiting trolls on the forums.

It is best to leave your comment then don't respond/subscribe, especially if your thoughts go against the peanut gallery.

Simply leave on a high note.
No it's best to read the rules you agreed to. Then you'll learn simply to behave correctly in public.

NOBODY but yourself is responsible for your own actions. Stop blaming trolls. Trolls can say the nastiest things but YOU are repsonsible for how you respond. If you can't handle your emotions or responses then that still remains a YOU problem.
