Is this a scam?
So a guy messages me on steam saying he wrongfully reported me for an illegal purchace that happened to him. He then shows me a screenshot of a steam report ticket that says to contact a steam admin by adding him to prove i'm "innocent" and that the report was a "mistake". also implying, "hmm you need to add the steam admin bro, and explain to him that my report is a mistake only, and prove to him that you're innocent, and you're not involved to the said scams, i already told to the steam admin, but he wants a confirmation from you so, i contacted you :(
can you add him on steam bro? :("

This just seems fishy and i ddint do anythign yet.

It's a scam!

Any claim that you've been accidentally or falsely reported for fraud or any other infraction is a scam. Do not follow any instructions provided by anyone claiming to have accidentally reported your account.

Valve Employees will never ask you for personal or account information, on Steam or anywhere else. You can safely ignore anyone who claims to have mistakenly reported you - that will not get you banned. If you need help with your Steam account, go to https://help.steampowered.com/ .

Read more about this scam here: Scam: I Have Been Reported and Will Be Banned

Report and block all accounts involved in the scam.

If your account has already been compromised:

Do not trade until your account is secured.

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

a simple google search would answer that question...

Always think these things through... why would Steam even bother to react on a false report? Or why would you assume that Steam will always take action on a report without verifying things for themselves first?

If anyone could land into problems from a false report it would be the person making the false report in the first place. I mean... that could be explained as harassment.

It is a scam, most likely using a account he got from scamming someone else who fell for it. All you can do is block the scammer and report it.

Scam. If anyone messages you on here about anything to do with your account it's a scam and they should be reported and blocked. Steam Support are the only entity that will ever contact you and this is done through tickets or notifications within the Steam client - not on Discord or through other accounts from people pretending to work for Valve. Report everyone involved and do not engage further.
