Ok? Steam does sell hardware, but to my knowledge no wheels. So what is the purpose of this thread?

A few of my friends who are mostly into racing games use steering wheels. They work fine on PC.

Not sure what is going wrong om your end, but might want to do some troubleshooting there.

What this yentleman said, we do VR racing with entire setups with steam and no issues.

Steering Wheels for the PC are awesome, I love em. I just wish I could use them more than I can do now days. I don't mind playing racing games with a game pad but you can't beat a steering wheel. Even a fairly cheap wheel can be extremely fun. I've never known one not to work for the past 15/20 years or so on PC 's.

warning consumers and helping steam not get blacklisted

I have a wheel and most of the time it just works, then you fine tune it to your preferences.

Demonstrable rubbish.

I've used them for many years and generally speaking they work easier on PC than consoles, as you often have to have specific ones for consoles.

If you're having issues you should perhaps tell us what the model of wheel is you have and what software you're trying to run because I'd bet the error is more your end or something you've not realised or read up about beforehand.

Hell, you would be surprised the amount of peripherals I've got to work on PC that even shouldn't.

PS dancemats, controllers galore, and best of all the PS3 DJHero controller I use for scratching on mixed sometimes.

So by all means tell us what your controller is, what you're trying to run, what problems you're hacing and we'll try to help or point you in the right direction.Venting without details gets you nowhere.

By saying something untrue?

... Why exactly should Steam get "blacklisted" for something they don't even sell? What is "blacklisted" even supposed to mean?

Not sure what OP is going on about as the wheel i purchased, made by Thrustmaster (Model TMX) is working fine and dandy. The intial setup was fast and painless. Less than half an hour. Took longer to set it up in the game, but that was game related, not wheel related.

Blacklisted where? By the BBB?
I know there is an issue with one of the Logitech wheels, but hey it's Logitech and that is what they do best...

Tell me about it. A friend reinstalled his Driving Force GT wheel, which admittedly is a bit dated. But that is no excuse for the keyboard to stop working after the driver was installed.
Was easily fixed by unpluggin and replugging the keyboard, which was by Logitech as well, which is ironic considering they sabotaged their own hardware by using shoddy software.

That's amusing (I know frustrating if you're suffering it).

I have a Driving Force GT I use quite a lot as it works with the PS3 and PC. I've not had an issue but the only other Logitech product I have is the brilliant Marble Mouse.

Doesn't surprise me though that software can be iffy even with their own products.

Though to be fair, it's not even remotely approaching the scale of whatever this OP is banging on about.

Never had a problem with any of mine. Even my ancient Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel still works on modern Windows.
