..yes, it is Vin Diesel..
..and if Cyberpunk 2077 would had Multiplayer, probably this would be the best MMO.. you have also mentioned FF XIV, it is also a pretty good MMO as others state..
Man do I miss my Friars and my main was a Cleric who kicked ass in PVP. Loved the crafting system as well.
For me, the best MMO by far was "The Secret World". It doesn't exist anymore, though -- they replaced it with some F2P thing that's supposed to be based on the original game, but I've never played it.
And yeah, I basically never was in a party. The game worked perfectly fine solo.
It's also the first MMO that I finished (or even 100%-ed, probably, if you ignore multiplayer quests). Finished the main skill wheel, but not the entire auxilliary. I didn't like every quest (investigation in particular), but what I did like more than made up for that...
DAoC is still one of the best realm vs. realm pvp games I've ever played. Tried to recapture that magic with the world vs. world in Guild Wars 2, but there's just some things that I thought held it back in comparison.
That's still going?
My old roommate played that a lot over 20 years ago. I remember he played a Midgardian called "Amakiir Ari", or something like that. Good dude. Drank Mtn. Dew from a wine glass.
There's some real niche ones (I'd check places like Josh Strife Hayes on Youtueb for examples), but as far as big traditional MMOs, there's really only World of Warcraft (which I wouldn't personally recommend) or Lord of the Rings Online.
Lord of the Rings Online I still dip into from time to time, as it's decent and holds up. There is a problem though - their mentization is weird and everything's carved up so it can be bloody confusing.
You get access to the game and you can play through it no issues, but some quest expansions are carved off, and all the expansions are too. There's also vanity things and time-savers like extra inventory monetized too, so going in anew can be an exercise in frustration.
YOur best bet is to go in and have a go and keep your account going. Keep an eye on sales as they often have deal on the go. A year or so ago they gave away all their expansions for free so I picked up everything.
There is also a GOOD side to this game. You earn points in game that you can accrus to buy the expansions and so on. If you're a player like myself where you have more than one character, you can amass points decently enough and use them to buy stuff. I bought the first three expansions this way.
WoW used to be the king absolute, but its been a dumpster fire ever since cataclysm.
There are loads you can play right now, but what do you want from an mmo? Are you prepared to pay a subscription?
As for Guild Wars 2 I already invested time and money into this game and I don't have to pay monthly, DLCs are cheap. It's the best choice for me.
