Good JRPG's ???
New, Old, doesn't matter, just looking for classic good rpgs with the turn based combat system.

Indeed. I tried them a while ago but I was like, wtf is this? What do you like about them?

First, take note that I didn't list RB1 and RB2. I considered RB1 to be borderline boring, but still gave it a thumb-up. RB2 got a thumb-down.

So, how can I give RB2 a thumb-down, and actually recommend RB3 -- aren't they the same game? The thing is -- story is an important factor for me. I like the world, the characters, and if Idea Factory wants to do it, they can do pretty good stories. And that's where RB3 and VII won me.

Neptune herself can be a big factor in this, if Idea Factory lets her out -- out of the regular cast, she's easily my favorite. Her human and HDD personalities are quite different -- but they both work in her favor. If the story makes use of it.

Well yes it was RB1 which I played, I found it out later.

One of the best of all time

Absolutely - it needs sharing more frankly.

When Final Fantasy gets massive recognition, it's sad this doesn't.

Working Designs and Game Arts are frankly two of the best devs ever for RPGs.

Suikoden V is a good one that's not mentioned often. Though I enjoyed it more for the plot and world than the gameplay.

pretty much will run on any potato

Get NWN2 and you can play original Baldur's Gate, too.

Disgraceful that the so-called Baldur's Gate 3 is winning awards. Nobody likes the 5th edition rules.

Nobody?

Then please do explain why it's selling like gangbusters.
Because that would imply quite a lot are fine with it.

The Legend of Heroes has like 10 or 12 games, no idea if they are related at all or are self contained stories.

To my knowledge, all The Legend of Heroes games are connected.

If you do ever find yourself interested in The Legend of Heroes series, then I highly suggest you start with the very first one, which is this one: https://store.steampowered.com/app/251150/The_Legend_of_Heroes_Trails_in_the_Sky/

If you end up liking it, then you'll want to play its direct sequel: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC

I'll warn you, they're slow burns. I've loved every one I've played, but you got to be okay with slow burns. Personally, I find the slower pacing to be a strength of the series, but it can be off putting for others.
