your account is compromised
DO NOT TRADE
If you have access to the account

Steps to take NOW to secure the account:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Please review how you are logging into Steam, you somehow gave them your log in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake login, or you using a 3rd party site to login to steam.

Hijacked, not hacked. You leaked your account credentials somehow.

Do not trade until your account is secured.

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

Steam does not return inventory items or wallet funds: https://help.steampowered.com/faqs/view/3B6E-B322-2400-8D24

If you no longer have access to your account, read this:

I just noticed 5 months ago all 40$ from my wallet was used to buy 2 items from CS:GO and DOTA2 for insane prices and I don't even play those games or even use marketplace.

I don't expect either of us to get any help from Steam/Support, I put in a ticket but yeah I am not expecting any help. My original account got stolen so many years ago in like 2008-2010 and I was never able to get steam to give it back, they pretty much just told me F U. This is the first time I had a problem with this account since i made it well over a decade ago.

I just Deauthorized my devices and changed password, hopefully i can leave money in my wallet in the future and not have to worry about this happening again.

Account security is ALWAYS your responsibilty and that's not just a Valve thing either.

Bank accounts, for instance. If you went into a bar or cafe and left your wallet on the table and it got stolen, inside were your cards and PIN numbers. ANY money you lose is your responsibility and the bank will not pay it back under those circumstances. Because you were negligent with your security.

The same applies to your Steam account. How items get stolen is you either got malware by going to dodgy sites, or you went to those dodgy skin sites and gambled or bought skins and such - they are well known for stealing your login details.

So they way to avoid this in future is to NOT GO TO SUCH SITES.

Also, NEVER EVER click on any links you get through chat with friends on Steam as their accounts might be compromised.

Yes the help you need is to help yourself and learn how to avoid scams alongside of internet security measures. Just use Steam as a store. You put money in to buy things and you only communicate with them directly through official channels.

I just got a response from Steam telling me they don't give a crap about users.

Here was my Repsone to them.

"So what you are telling me is Steam doesn't give a sh*t about users, there isn't a system to protect us from OBVIOUS fraud? I should just F*Z*k off? That is the company stance huh?

Items worth 0.03 cents get sold and bought for $23 and $13 by Users accounts who don't even play those games and Steam takes Absolutely no accountability here?

You know what? I blame steam for my stolen $40, why the F*** in 2023 with all these technical and software advancements would steam allow this bulls**t to happen.

My account in Secure, the problem is Steam's bullsh*t market place that I don't even use.

Thank you Steam for not giving a ♥♥♥♥ enough to monitor the Marketplace for OBVIOUS fraud. That is really pathetic.

Oh here is another thought, why doesn't the steam app on my phone that I use steamguard for not give me a notification of marketplace or the steam application on my PC? This happened 5 months ago and I accidentally find out about it on my own?

This is so damn disrespectful from a company like steam."

I call BS... its our responsibility? This is 2023 we have ai making decent music from dead rappers and @ss rappers like Kanye West but Steam doesn't monitor their marketplace for fraud or suspicious activity?
I don't use market place but then 5 month ago I buy two items worth .006 cents for $40 from Games I put no hours into and don't even play? And to top it off I don't get notified by steam of my so called purchases?

I don't pay attention to may wallet because I don't use steam for long periods of time it's just running on my PC when my PC is on. So I didn't even realize I had $40 in my wallet. But 5 months later I find out, no notification or intervention from Steam at all but it's my fault?

My Opinion is Steam stole my money by not monitoring my account for suspicious activity or even giving me a notification 5 months ago that these Items were bought off marketplace for insane prices..

The last time I used market place was 2017 when I bought Emoticons for chat , and Steam doesn't find it suspicious my account in 2023 spends $40 on 2 items worth 0.06 for 2 games I don't play?

Doesn't even send a notification to the steamguard app on my phone or my PC?

But it's my fault? This is really ridicules in 2023. As far as I am concerned Steam Stole my $40.

I am not putting money in my wallet again, I'll just buy games from other vendors and use the keys. Which is pretty much what I've been doing anyway.

Actually I should remove steam from windows startup too, I go months without even playing steam games yet it's running in the background when I start my pc. At this point I lost all trust in steam so how do I know they aren't stealing my data and selling/using it or monitoring my PC instead of actually monitoring market purchases?

Yes your account security is your responsiblity. Steam doesn't let anyone just log into your account. They must have your username, which no one knows, and your password, which no one should know. Think about HOW they would have obtained such information. Because it wasn't from Steam.

You can be angry about this all you want. But Valve did their part concerning security through various means while you failed yours. And the disrespectful part is how you not only accuse Valve of wrongdoing, but also how you ignore the community's help here. Just be responsible. Act reasonable and honor the agreements you have made. And if you don't want our help stop wasting our time.

Call BS all you want.

It's LAW.

I'm sorry you don't understand it, but that's been cast iron for many years since before Valve came about.

I used to give legal advice for disabled and consumer law and this issue would sometimes come up.

It doesn't change the fact you were wrong and Valve CANNOT defend you from your own obligations.

I'm sorry but that's how it is. You are better of learning this is how society works and deal with it. We all do.
