well for some people in small countries with f'ed up currencies its actually the only way to buy games and items from steam for example one of my friends that was in india said that his region didnt have india rupes in it for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam reasons and that it was automatically set to usa dollar and if you know anything about india currency it was actually a lost cause for him to try and buy anything with rupes exchange to dollar cus basically usa region just has extortionate prices and that he said he had to change his region to turkey or something so he can actually buy anything.

just saying not all of these peoples are frauds, just some folks trying to play an original game once and not the stupid crack versions of them.
Some time ago Poland has prices in euros so i pay for games in euros for a few years...

it is for steam to decide what action they will take. they dont tell you everything they do, nor do they have any reason to tell you. they are not going to tell you what action they take against another account, nor is it your business.

if you know an account is using a vpn to bypass region restrictions/pricing, report the account thru its profile and move on
Search reddit/youtube or other social media for groups using VPN to make frauds on steam... This is big global problem and i hope steam will definetly kill this proceder for good. Steam and developers are lost big amount of money thanks this frauds via VPN's :(

wrong they don´t lose Money
while i Agree it is criminal using VPN to Buy a Game cheaper
but if they wouldn´t use a vpn they just would illegal download it, and would harm the developers even more
it is a 2 sided coin , Both coins are Illegal but with the one , developers atleast make some money
besides that i don´t think it would really work today, you would need a Bank account in the cheaper country,

Most of the African(especially north africa) countries with worse economy than Argentina and turkey are forced to use "USD" by default.

What would be your take in case of such people use this VPN thing?

They can't just ban people.

There's a few things you need to remember.

Valve aren't the world police nor are they omnipresent.

So you seeing people do it does not mean they know about them, nor does it mean they can get to them, or simply you could be wrong too.

The thing is, if you se something wrong you suspect, report the profile via the profile itself. But do not assume that you will see the outcome though. If there is any evidence, they'll atend to it.

It's not fraud. It's globalization. Companies use cheap labour in other countries too. Especially in IT. In a free market, everybody is free to purchase from the vendor of their choice (e.g. the cheapest).

There are a lot bigger issues to worry about in the world, if you're worried about injustices you should check current politics, pharma, slave labor, etc...

So do you actually care about this problem, or is it a problem because it's unfair to you.

Still didn't answer me, what's your opinion on people from worse regions where steam hasn't offered a regional price for them if these people where to use arg/turkey region.

That does not matter as there are many reasons why a regional price is not available in that region and any abuse of vpn's like that is a serious risk to your account for valid reasons.

Tf do you mean it doesn't matter?? So you're just saying, the people in the area have no right to buy the games and enjoy them which implies people will crack them??

How come this is not a valid reason??

Let's take Algeria for example, one of the most advanced in the area of central/north africa

YOU have to work for 3 weeks non stop to afford a 60$ game. Using USD pricing since that's what's forced there. (Actually more than 3 weeks because there's no currency bank exchanging so they have to pay in black-market which will make that 60$ around 90$)

Steam completely ignored adding a regional pricing and a solution.

Gaming is hobby, not even essential in your life. Sometime people are just prioritize something that aren't even important for their life.

If you're couldn't afford to buy games, hold it off for few months or years until it went to sale. Or just do steam card tradings/dota/team fortress/etc etc and make steam money off it. Or sell it on online group for collector stuff.

Region pricing are set to international USD conversation rate(afaik) + tax (in my country at least) so i can't even blame steam for insufferable regional pricing. But hey, there is always seasonal discount sales.

Regional pricing is made to make it fair for poorer regions to afford games just as EU/NA people buy 60$ with 0 issues.

Poorer ones have to deal with tax + currency exchange if they don't get their own regional pricing which might make that 60$ already more than 100$ without considering the small wage.

Yeah, I love to spend 60$ on games. Whole world fight with inflation and we all get poorer day by day. Everyone have their strugles and gaming is NOT needed to live. And when you are using Steam, you should comply with Valve's rules. If you don't like them, there are alternatives.
