Its not your machine(well it could be in addition). Steam's servers seem to be flapping in the wind today. Hopefully more stable tomorrow.

Can't start about 25% of my games because they won't sync with Steam :steamfacepalm:

Same problem here since yesterday afternoon.
The community servers did go down hard yesterday. My cloud syncing returned after the crash and still works. You reboot the client (or PC) and try again, but to click to update the Steam Cloud on that tiny button (update Steam Cloud/retry).

After yesterdays server crash and almost subsequent loss of save-game file data, I am now officially turning off Steam Cloud. :cozycastondeath:

is it working then? or are you still having problems for you to want to deactivate?

I've been having this issue consistently since the recent Steam update. It is happening with about 85% of my library. I've also tried everything OP has with no success.

today I played a game with the cloud and nothing happened, it opened normally without any error, and other games of mine did not give an error in synchronization when I clicked

I had no issues with Steam cloud ever since the last outage issues.

I played today and my cloud it was normal, I was able to play a game that had the cloud and there was no synchronization error
For me it seems Steam keeps saying it can't sync when I try to start any game, but after I've played it, it does seem to sync.

No idea if it's a bug with the cloud or with the client. Ah well, at least the games still work.

In a fit of desperation I chose 1 game that was having a problem and deleted all of my local save games, plus the autocloud file (i forget what it's called). Restarted steam, and the game prompted for whether I wanted the local file or cloud file, and now it SEEMS to be working. Not 100% sure as I haven't had a chance to do further testing / playing.

I am still having this problem on all games with the cloudsync option. I've already tried all the usual things, like checking the integrity, rebooting, etc. Maybe the next steam update with fix it if I'm lucky?

Quick update, I saw a tip from someone else and it seems to have worked for me. If you're still having this problem, try closing steam and then reopening it using the "run as administrator" option. Once it's done, you can close steam and open it normally and everything should work.
