you were not reported. reports dont cause bans, they cause an investigation only. the investigation has to find something for a ban to be issued. having the same name means nothing since profile name are not unique to any account. steam uses the id of the account since its unique to each account.
its a simply tactic, but sadly it also works very well for them.

In future if a site asks you to log in via steam log into this address first:
https://store.steampowered.com/login/
Once logged in refresh the page that is asking you to login via steam using f5 on the same browser. If it is a legit page it will ask you to confirm the correct account is logging in by clicking a button, and not ask you to put your details in again...
If after you refresh the site page still asks for your login details then it is not legit.

Discord is not a very secure place. Too many scammers on it, and they seem to do it easier than people scam on steam.
then why is it like everyday there are at least 10 posts about people being scammed on discord? This says something about discord and people using it. Prove me wrong. Why not count how many people on here post this week about how they got scammed on discord by someone telling them they are a steam moderator, or they won something, or they vote for something.
Some me evidence about how safe it is to use discord please. See my posting history for proof about people being scammed on discord. I tend to write not to use it if the person cannot recognize scams.
Plus what is wrong with steam chat? I would like to know.
Isn't like discord a third party loader? I mean look how many people do not like ubisoft because of it's third party loader. I prefer not to use discord either because i consider it a third party loader too. Plus i do not trust it safety. I mean it does not come pre installed on my pc, and alot games force you to use it, so feel it is like a third party program, just like a game loader like ubisoft connect or EA app.
Let me put another way. If you see a game you want, but never played before, and cannot see anything anywhere about it, except many negative reviews and other people saying how bad the game is, what would you opinion be about the game? Would you buy it? Would you install it on your pc and see how really bad it is just to see that and waste your time and money doing it? This is how i see Discord. I will install it when i see no people saying they got scammed on it. This is how i see discord, a place that alot people scam people.
What is wrong with steam chat? I used it for several games. As far as i know, discord is also chat for games right? I do not see why people choose discord over steam chat.
True, they can also work on steam chat, but i still see discord as a third party loader. Can you not play games from discord and load them up? That is what a launcher does too. It loads games from them. Also if someone writes on steam, aren't they on steam like the OP? How do you write on steam's community if you do not use steam? Explain that to me please.
A front loader is also a program that launches games too, and is usually a third party launcher too. Maybe discord is more like a front loader then?
Here is the definition of a front loader program:
"On a PC, a "front loader" program can refer to two different things: either a program that acts as a graphical user interface (GUI) for emulators, game engines, or media players, or a program that manages the loading and unloading of different software applications. The former, like RetroArch, is a popular example, offering a unified way to run classic games across various platforms. The latter, often seen in software development, refers to tools that streamline the process of launching and managing different software applications, ensuring a smooth user experience."
