What are the worst video game companies for you?
For me are:

1 Trion-Gamigo tied with Bunggie
2 Fun Pimps
3 Fun Com

The question should have been: Which company will you not buy more games from again?
Lol, in the current climate it might be better to ask "are there any companies left you will buy from?"

1. Electronic Arts, duh. As a kid I liked their games, especially NHL. Now i will never touch their games ever again.

2. Ubisoft, "30fps is better than 60 for cinematic experience", Watch Dogs fiasco, AC Unity fiasco, fake trailers, braindead ubisoft formula, etc

3. Warners, I still remember how they sued modders for creating a free LoTR fan project

4. Square. Took them 23 years to remake FFVII on Playstation, another two years to re-release it on PC as an Epic Exclusive and another year to re-re-realease it on Steam. Not to mention the fact that the remake contains only half of the original story. for 79,99€. Expecting second half in 2027 for 99,99€

5. Bethesda lately, for constantly trying to sabotage TES modding community with their idiotic updates for 12 yrs old game.
Any company with a board of directors/CEO/and or Executives.

Once that chunk of overhead hits is usually when the quality of their games starts declining.

EA
Ubisoft
Bethesda

they will never get a cent from me

That's a bit of a tricky question. Every game company has their faults and stuff they do right. Nintendo has made some of the best games that ever graced the industry, but they have pulled some really scummy anti-consumer practices in recent years. Valve has lowered the bar in terms of quality for their games since 10 years ago, but they do genuinely care about their community and even allow fan projects to be released on Steam. Bethesda has innovated on the open-world genre and created some genuinely immersive games, but their more recent games are complete garbage and rely on mods to even function.

If there's one video game company I know of that has zero redeeming qualities it's Data Design. They are a pretty obscure company and fortunately went bankrupt a few years ago. For context, they made numerous shovelware "games" for the Wii and PS2. One of these games was Ninjabread Man which has retrospectively been viewed as one of, if not, the worst video game of all time. Their other games aren't much better. In fact, most of them are carbon copies of each other; recycled assets, generic level design and the exact same formula and control scheme for all of their games.

They don't need to get a cent from you.
They are the top richest game companies.

They have millions of fan base.

Yes they do need money. They are companies, that's what the business is based on, selling games. Although it seems that lately they are betting on brainwashing with an ideology for a much larger long-term business.

Any company that doubles down as a drm platform which inhibits me from playing my purchased games. And then they wonder why people turn to piracy.

It's sad how true this statement is. The only gaming developers I can still play games from without piracy are Valve and indie developers. Everything else I just wait for a sale or simply pirate them.

Agreed. So many game developers are implementing drm in their games that ruin performance so much to the point that it becomes unplayable without mods. Hell, some companies outright delist their games making them completely impossible to play unless you pirate them. Nintendo is especially guilty of this; they have re-released their older games behind a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ online service, delisted entire digital libraries and have even taken down countless fan games for "infringing" on their IPs. The sad part is that many of their games are damn great, some of which are my favorite games of all time. It takes a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company to have me not pay for games I'm genuinely interested in, that is if Nintendo actually allows people to play their games at all. Sega truly does what Nintendont.

Ain't that the sad truth?

I buy LOADS of games because I've always had a wide range of tastes in most things. I don't like beat em ups and a couple of other genres but that's about it. Plus with having so many consoles and computers it means I typically buy over 300 games each year.

And yet more and more, that gets whittled down in choice because of seeing so many companies do really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ anti-consumer and anti-staff behaviour.

I will ABSOLUTELY NOT buy anything from ActiBlizz until I see clear evidence for some years that they no longer engage in bullying workers, sexually abusing them and so on.

It's sad to even have to type that frankly as that shouldn't even be a thing.

I never liked Activishit or Blizztard and haven't played any of their games, probably won't do it in the future. As with the whole scandals surrounding the company, it's unfortunately very common among other gaming studios. Countless gaming companies have been caught mistreating their workers for years.

Yup and that's why when I see the evidence they get the same too.

I just used them as an example because theirs is well known and demonstrated and therefore the best example.
