I do miss Insomniac making their own franchises. I liked the creativity of the first Spyro games, and especially the first Ratchet and Clank games. I see they are making Spiderman games, but am curious what they would come up with next... If they ever get to doing that again.

haven't played their games before (since it's locked to ancient hardware and i can't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to set up an emulator), but i think they might be doing these to gather more funding and make more original games.

didn't they make Rift Apart recently?

plus, i'm sure they have multiple teams working on various projects.

They did make it, yes. But Insomniac has been purchased by Sony in 2019, so you can expect them to mainly focus on the known PS franchises they always developed (Ratchet & Clank, Spyro, now Spidey games).

They did do Rift Apart, but they have been at the Ratchet and Clank franchise for around 2 decades.

(I might add with little remaining charm from the first installment.)

Spyro, last I knew, was in the hands of Activision/Blizard. That series has been through 2-3 reboots (depending if you count the graphical remaster of the original as a reboot).

Frankly, I miss so many great devs from the PS2 era.

So many turned out some really great and ambitious experiments. But either they've gone completely or have been bought up like Insomniac.

SPyro wouldn't be something they can deal with as it wasn't their licence. They created it sure, but it was paid for by Acitvision. Hence why they've been turning out the remasters.

I'd absolutely agree.

When Spyro was taken from Insomniac and offered that reboot on the later PS2 era, they were pretty awful.

Sadly, I can't see Sony getting the idea to give them such free reign these days. Maybe they might have a change of heart? I hope so.

.games dont launch after you download them there quick enough to take your money not quick enough to refund you
.games are very expensive even on sale
.very toxic community you ask a quest in discussions and hate comments come your way
