As to how to you can protect your account, stop giving 3rd party scam sites your login details.
Through whatever means they gave the criminal access to their account; for example by logging in on a third party website.
Considering the culprit was interested in trade and inventories, its likely some kind of third party site that serves as a pool and to show your inventory to others, or at least it poses as such.
Stop using sites like those you have in your namehistory and you are way safer.
did all these though
what worries me is not getting the marketplace confirmation thingy for listing items even though steamguard was on had to disable it to get the restricted acces to the marketplace
Its never a good idea to link your account to some third party site. Sometimes you may want to for reasons, but in such case, make sure that the session they have is invalidated. (reset steam guard, etc.), so that any information they have becomes useless.
your email seems to be affected as well (and all associated accounts).
By the look. Try out what should have happened, and what "this not happening" could tell.
In case of reasonable worries, make sure to know where the details for steam and email cross. If thats a device you use, it might be infected.
Reset my steam guard to temporarily disable the market place scanned both my PCs should be good now.
thanks for the tips and instructions really helped me out <3
The problem lies with you, you leaked your information somewhere.
