that way i know what games to pick up next
I have about 4Tb, so that does make a difference.
thanks for your reply...i do to have that kind of storage size but u know overtime number games we have will outweigh the storage size... i have seen some gamer have more than 4k of games! i was like "woah"... anyway i'm trying to get some ideas from you all here...
The steam client shelf for "newly added" is not really long enough when I am in reviewer-of-games mode, so I use the ready-to-play flag to know what is next - I'm rather enjoying reviewing small shorter games, and so it fills up and empties quickly. I try to prioritise games that might be shorter.
And then I uninstall them so they are no longer "ready-to-play" I love the ready to play button to bits.
But not everything.
@Ogami... 8TB of SSD is huge! mouthwatering for me if i have such a large storage with a high speed loading, yummy... that storage will last for some time ...good to know ur side have 8TB storage...my area still coming with 2/4TB, that also for those on PS5...Thanks for telling
Well, i do replay some my games say, Tomb Raider games, Batman Arkham series, Shadow of Mordor/War, AC games... you know those games with NG+ (New Game Plus) ... Why if you ask, well for one, i loved their stories and two some stuff can only after the game is beaten.... which is why i may have storage issue in the future...it is good to know from you as to how you manage your storage, thank you
i do not throw out hard drives, and have bought a couple of large capacity (for the time) hdds, so i have plenty of room
Well, its not a single 8 TB SSD, i think that would be very expensive.
I have a 2 TB NVME.2 as my main drive for Windows and installations and 3 x 2 TB SSD additionally.
Also another 8 TB old school external HDD but thats not for games but mainly for movie files, music and some backups.
2TB SSD have really gone down in price and you can grab them for around 100 Euro here on Amazon and such.
@Ogami... SSD chip is quite new in my area although it arrived way back in 2020...at that time my area was in locked down due to Covid... So with that plus weak exchange rates, prices shot up... now supply is back up but not fully ...at the moment in my area new pc with mid range specs with SSD, those SSD storage size will be roughly 475GB (standard issue)...u want to upgrade it will cost abit, so backup with a few big HDDs... well i'm hoping SSD pricing to go down ... Anyway it is good to know how you store your gaming stuff..Thank you..
As for uninstalling, I tend to forget doing that unless I'm deliberately cleaning up my storage devices. I went a little hard on the "purge!" hammer the last time.
i did that purging the storage before...i kind of regret uninstalling it as i want to replay those games and the discs cannot read lol (prior Steam era)...thank you for your info
I'm saving to get a better hard drive than the 2TB I have installed as some games I want to install are over 100GB.
