Why does steam sell games that are no longer playable?
I noticed Blacklight Tango Down was still on steam for a dollar, It's a multiplayer only game, and the servers are no longer available. Why would steam continue to sell a game like that?

because Valve didnt got the memo that among around 6000 games x and y game got the multiplayer service shut down likely.

I would hope someone would be smart enough to research a multiplayer only game or any game for that matter before buying. Anyone that doesn't is an idiot...plus, there is always the refund system to fall back on.

Be a savvy consumer, problem solved.

There is still a single player component in this game. Don't know how LIVE is for it currently, but the service as a whole is definitely NOT shut down.

GFWL is NOT SHUT DOWN

This is a constant misconception. it may suck but GFWL is not shutdown. The game still works. MP still works. No on eis on it, but the game is fully playable.

I never bought it I'm just aware, still some people don't do research. I still dont think that means people should lose money

Thats why I mentioned the refund system. It is a safety net for not doing your research. If you are dumb enough to not do your research AND allow the refund safeguard to expire, then you are really really foolish.

The caveat to this is that the refund system should not be a safeguard to poor purchasing decisions.
