Those scams use middlemen most the time and the others about "verifying" items is just a scam as well. Valve does not do middleman trades or verify items, as there is no need for either of them.
If someone is asking for either, then do not trade. One window, one transaction or none at all.
Having "VALVE" in your name is special ascii letters doesn't mean anything either. Valve developers do not offer middleman services. Middleman services are a scam. And there is no such thing as verifying an item is real. There is a trade window for a reason. So you cannot get scammed. You gotta stop falling for dumb crap like that.

Yes, there is. There is a badge, listed with all the game badges, that is exclusive to Valve emplyees, just like there is one for moderators. No one but those who are supposed to have these, have them.
For example: Al has the badge on his profile, on the right hand side, under the Steam level.
Woops, you're right. I think I misunderstood that. I was thinking as in a special indicator in their name. Often people use those special unicode block letters to write VALVE in their profile name but it means nothing.
But yes, there are the moderator and valve employee badge. Those cannot be spoofed.
But someone can copy another user's profile or attempt to. It's incumbent upon a trader to ask themselves...Would a Valve employees be taking time out of their day to personally provide middleman services for my CSGO trades?
Also, the trading system is there for a reason.
Obvioiusly, don't need to tell you this but just speaking generally.
Yeah, if someone approaches you with an unsolicited trade then it's probably a scam. If you are open for trade offers and someone adds you and wants to trade outside of the trade window, it's a scam.
I can't emphasize enough how people need to just use the trade window. Any trade that you conduct outside of the trade window is not protected. And even when you use the trading system, don't fall for items with no market history and there's one on sale on the market for 300 bucks or anything at all involving any third party.
The problem is greed and stupidity always seem to go together. Greed is usually the main factor in at least 50% of scams.
