REX4 Texture Direct for FSX:SE
Can someone help me get this add-on working? I'm exhausted trying to get it to run. I've even went to the manufacture for the newest update/download and that didn't work. I installed it into my FSX subdirectory within STEAM.

Is the purchase from the Steam store or from REX's site? If it is from the Steam store, you need to, in Steam, go to Library-->Tools and download and the REX4 Texture Direct Tool. Run it and it should function as normal REX4.

I've already tried that. It still didn't work. Maybe because I'd already tried REX's Config. Program that is installed on to my Desktop? Anyway, I got frustrated, and asked for a Refund, but Steam responded with a denial, due to having it for a couple days over their 48 hour limit! So I had it removed from my Add-On Library. (And I really wanted it sooo bad too!)

Is there anything like REX4 Texture Direct that works with FSX:SE?

Should be installed in the DLC directory.
Try downloading, it will install again and then look for the tool, install that, log out and log back in.

I just let FSX:SE install it. I did double-click on the "tool" within the FSX:SE Directory if that is what you're talking about. I assumed it was correctly done. I usually let Add-Ons install under my FSX directory within Steam, etc. I don't know what a DLC directory is anyway.

DLC is where all your fsx- steam add-ons are installed. Click Library in the steam browser and then click Tools and look for the tool. Click the tool and it will download , it may take a few minutes to download.

i had my own issues with Rex4 it would run setup but not install anything. I contacted Rex's support and within a day they responded by telling me to use winzip (instead of my default option in windows10) to extract, also dont extract it to your program filesx86 directery. i'm not assuming your issue is the exact same as mine but make an acct w Rex's support and put in a ticket. Again they got back to me within the day with what i needed to make it work. Sorry to hear yer having isssues but hang with it Rex is AWESOME

Mine did not want to work. i had to shut down steam and restart the pc after the install. Then i went ditectly to tools and config it there. Another steam shut down and restart and it installed correctly when i logged back into steam. I know it makes no sense, it did not to me either but there it is.

Now Steam says ,bcause I disputed my REFUND with PAYPAL, they're not going to let me purchase anything! I cleared the "dispute" within PAYPAL against Valve Corp/Steam, and they still won't let me purchase the Add-On for REX 4 Texture Direct! They don't have a phone! I really want the REX 4 Texture Direct Add-On to work too! AHHHHHH!!! Someone at STEAM Please Read THiS and Know I Just Want The Add-On! (And I need their help getting it to install!)

Catching up on old posts here, but if you see this, get this one instead of Steam's:

There is another version without Soft Clouds, but the former gives me a more complete experience. It is fully compatible with FSX Steam.

Hi msgtmac, we are sorry to hear that things sound like they are a bit of a mess for you. We are not sure if you have bought REX 4 from Steam or from the Rex team directly. Here is some advice that might help you out.

Firstly, if you are using REX 4 purchased directly from the Rex Team please contact them directly for support. You can do this by following this link:

http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/

If you are using the Steam version the first thing you will want to do is uninstall it, and any other updates you have download from other websites. You do not want to be running two different installs of Rex at the same time. Everything you need to run the Steam version is on Steam. There is no need to download anything else from another website.

Now you will need download REX 4 from your Steam library. After it has download you will need to download the config Tool. To do this navigate to the Tools section within Steam. This can be found in the drop down field when hovering over Library. See the screenshot below as a visual aid - https://fsxinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Orbx-Config-300x202.png

Look for the Rex Tool and install it. Once that has done you can launch it by navigating to the Tools library once again, and double clicking on the Rex Tool. That is it. You can then customise your REX setup before launching FSX: SE.

If you need some more help you can reach us through our support website which is found here - http://dovetailgames.kayako.com/ Just create a new ticket and a member of our team will get back to as soon as they can.

We are unable to help with your Steam account. We have no control over the Steam system so you will need to contact Valve directly about this. You can do that by going through their support system found here -

https://help.steampowered.com/en/

We hope that helps,

- Martin
