but remember,
steam forum has its own term and agreement,
by joining or participating in the forum means you agree to bide by those rules.
moderators have full authority to lock/remove posts (global or game specific forum) that are inappropriate.
to understand what "appropriate" means, follow this link
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4045-USHJ-3810
moderators are person just like another users,
they can have bad times as well,
so action that they made can be sometimes forgiving but there are times that they do it harsh (strict more likely).
but still, it is their job, and they know what they are doing.
bottom line:
if you got banned by a mod,
you 99% deserved it
The links posted in the 2nd post of this thread doesn't really leave me feeling like it will get taken care of.... :|
I seriously want to know WHO I can report this and see an actual ticket so I know something is at least being done.
And believe me, I have legitimate proof and have linked them in all my reports thus far but even then I feel like unless I have a ticket or a response that the user is only getting a slap on the wrist and will be a repeat offender. How can anyone report a mod when they instantly get a warning about abusing the report feature. :|
Didn't notice how long ago this thread was... sorry for reviving should have just made a new thread.
Was this a general forum moderator, or the moderator of a game-specific forum?
The developers pick who moderates their game's forum, there's nothing Valve can do about them if that's the case. You'd be better off sending an email to the developer's of the game.
General. Had the orange star and everything. Like I said I have his profile and several screenshots of the conversation before he locked the thread then completely deleted it after I reported.
We moderators do not get a notice when being reported by our profiles or even when reported in the forums. However, we deal with reports in the forums, hence why it is best to report by the profile for such matters.
Thank you. I just, ugh if I could link the shots I took, you'd understand EXACTLY why I am not willing to just drop this and let it go but since that isn't allowed I am here reviving old dead threads -_-
Feel free to add me for personal guidance or to see the evidence then remove me after, I just honestly cant let this go at all because I know most people won't even bother going these lengths to report an abuse like this.
Game hub moderators do not have a star, only an orange name.
...when did that change...
He is in the STЕАМ Community Moderators group so I am assuming he is a general moderator? Or does it not work like that.
If it's the latter, you may also wish to contact the game dev.
Yup. He is in the volunteer section.
Volunteer Moderators
These are members of the community that volunteer their time to help keep discussions clean and on topic, and remove reported user generated content around the Steam Community. If you see one of these guys around, please thank them for helping keep the Steam Community a safe and tidy place.
So I take it I am still going the proper way with emailing Gabe via Valvesoftware page and steam profile report? Yes, I understand how over the top emailing Gabe is but the evidence I have is pretty aboslute and I am that upset over a moderator acting like this.
Yes, if he's in that section that means he's one of Valve's volunteer moderator's and not one for a game.
If you genuinely believe you were wronged, I don't see anything wrong with emailing a complaint along with a report.
