I hate how when you just want to see the gameplay of a game and the videos for games look like a movie trailer with minimal gameplay, if any at all.

A lot of modern games are tantamount to a movie anyway, so maybe it's accurate.

It's marketing, it's supposed to get you interested and flashy stuff usually works better for that. While I wouldn't mind gameplay trailers, I would be wary anyway since it wouldn't be hard to only show the good stuff in them and leave out the tedious stuff that's 75% of the game.

Personally I skip the trailers. Sometimes I check a no commentary let's play.

A lot of 'gameplay' trailers are heavily upscaled, recorded on separate builds or are produced outside of the actual game. That's why they have the cinematic styling that doesn't match the end experience quality. Games like COD have been doing this for many years now and Fortnite is another good example. In the past, Watch Dogs and The Division were prime examples of misleading and even Anthem's 'gameplay' trailer was made before the game even existed and deemed wholly fake.

Legit gameplay can only be seen with independent footage or ones garnered from a proper build of the game.

As much as I recall, trailers on Steam from developers have to have some amount of it showing gameplay
If you see no gameplay at all, I think you can maybe report the game (except if it's before the rule was done, then they may have yet to have it)
As much as I remember they do say trailer has to have at least 2-3 minutes of gameplay without interruption or something of that sort some wherein n one of the rules at least used to have it

When ever all I see is that, my willingness to buy the game goes down by 50% cause you´re forcing me to look up youtube videos and I might not be bothered with that. So ♥♥♥♥ em.
