Why keep so many games installed?

1031 games installed. In my case slow internet. Could take 3 days to download a 60GB game. That is 8 hours of downloading each day. Which was at full DL speed and only when not using the connection for anything else.

Not everyone has 1GB internet like I have now finally,

In your case I would call that the smart route.

I personally got
231 GB SSD
1.81 TB HDD
223 GB SSD
931 GB SSD
447 GB SSD

I personally am a real disk space hog, I use a lot of it all the time, and when I need more, I do normally look for stuff to delete or move to my 1TB Cloud storage, but I do think sooner then later will need to get some more disks/disk and switch some of the older one to bigger once as the price did go down since I got them

Storing so many games is some kind of autism, since it won't play in everything anyway.

I try and uninstall games I won't be playing anytime soon, so my drives have nearly all their space free. I mean it doesn't matter much since my SSD is completely useless and devoid of any utility, but that's another story.

Nope. It is called planning ahead.

So you want to wait 3 days to play a game that can be on hand at anytime. Set your DL cap to 2Mbps for a year and then get back to me.

I don't worry about it now since I have 1GB connection. 60GB should DL in about 15 minutes or less. My newer PC only has like15 games installed.

Sh1t...20TB isn't even enough for me anymore with doing a lot of 4k filming and video editing.

wwaiting for the 50tb harddrives to be more affordable lol

kind of a combination of the two for me, i'll fill up the motherboard slots first with drives, cause my case /psu is big enough to support that.

after that, i'll update the older drives with larger capacity, or wipe them if the data isn't relevant anymore and the hardware is still in good shape.

If you are doing video editing then yeah, that's one of the times where you want to invest in some very beefy computer. Including storage.

I recently bought a 4TB SSD. I was quite amused when I found an ancient review on that website where I talked about my huge 36GB hard drive.

Haha, I remember when I thought it was a good idea to back up my 40 GB hard drive on my WinXP machine by Ctrl+C Ctrl+V copying the entire contents of it onto my 160 GB external hard drive.

Both how that turned out to be a silly idea and also how these sizes are dwarfed by modern drives.

Incidentally, since I was curious, I went back and checked the intro sequence of Mega Man X, which I remember was the first time I saw terabyte used as a unit.

real mem = 8192 TB
avail mem = 32768 TB

Storage-wise, we aren't far off from this. Already.

Though as for RAM, that's somewhat different.

2 tb strictly for games is more than enough. Realistically, you should only have a few titles that are that extreme in size. The rest you can delete to make space because more than likely those titles are once in a blue moon interactions as opposed to the big names with big fluff that some corpo decided to use your hard drive as their space to store their massive library of paywalled, superfluous garbage called DLC.
