Point & click, but with good graphics?
I'm looking for something that takes time (no puzzles), is a bit realistic in graphics, but not too much, detective type, but without monsters, demons, magic, unnatural stuff etc. A place where if you need gas you go to a gas station, where you eat, interact with people, basically good, old, normal stuff. I played Truberbrook, and that's nice, but I would rather like something with much more interaction. Something that would take days of game play. I know the genre is old, but I don't understand why newer games have to mimic the old terrible graphics days.

The thing is, I've read the books, and I love them, so I'm bound to be disappointed.
I'll check out the threads though.
I can't say I recognise the type of game play you talk about from any of the many point and click adventures I've played over the years. So I'm curious to see an example.

But the answer to your question about graphics is that P&C is a pretty niche genre these days, so tend to be built by small studios or indie devs. Having said that not all of them go down the pixel graphics adventure game creator route:

Asylum
3 minutes to midnight
Slender Threads
Black Mirror remake
Season of the Warlock
Crowns and Pawns
Syberia - especially the latest one
Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo
Sherlock Holmes titles

Are all upcoming or already released that have good graphics, but none really match your game play criteria as they are more about puzzles and story.

A lot of newer titles still use the old and established engines because the framework is in place and not many newer engines or genre-specific ones exist or tailor to this type of game now.

Kathy Rain is a decent choice - visuals are a bit dated but it's a good detective title and in the sale too

Tried it, the graphics turn me off.
So, basically, OP just avoid games like, Kathy Rain, made using the Adventure Game Studio model - it's the main reason newer adventure games have a certain graphic and gameplay "style ". Obviously, the problem is most great western style adventure games today - especially the Wadjet Eye games - are made using that engine.

So, removing those, I'd recommend you try either some Japanese, slice of life visual novels or this - which basically matches everything you wanted:

Also, the best place to ask is over at https://adventuregamers.com/ - check out the Aggy Award winners for ideas.

Edit: Side note, not all Japanese visual novels are just excuses for ecchi fan service; games like the excellent Hotel Dusk have none of that. Unfortunately, the prominence of ecchi titles on the Steam Store page rankings has given people "notions" about a very varied genre and held back releases of other titles in the west.

The graphics seems great, not absolutely sure about the story, but it sounds interesting.
Best one I can recommend from your description is Ketucky Route Zero as that seems to be about the closest to what you describe.

I havent played B3 and Stanley Parable, but I have B1 and B2 - pretty interesting games, also unique by any means. Stanley is on my list ;-). Regarding other games... difficult to say what u understand by good graphics. There are plenty of really cute adventure games.
A bit old topic, but maybe still worth mentioning.
Not a very long game, but point and click, and pretty realistic
