Steam Controller help with Madden 19

I got Madden 19 working (that was a pain) but now my only controller wont work. All I have is a steam controller and no matter what I do when I start the game it thinks its only keyboard an mouse.

I have googled the hell out of an answer and can only find 3 topics about it on the internet and all three solutions did work or not detailed enough for me to figure out what to do.

Sounds like the main issue is Madden 19 only works with xbox one controller but even when I tell it to emulate a xbox one controller it fails to do anything. I am about to give up but figured I would turn here for any advise before I just go buy a xbox controller.

Madden 19 is an EA game, although many non-Steam games can be configured through the Steam Client as a "add a Non-Steam" game. You will have to post your question on the EA Community forum.
It appears to me that many users use a "config" file for that specific issue and others also use GloSC
