How do the level-based booster pack drop bonuses work?
I see that you get +20% at level 10, +40% at level 20, +60% at level 30, and so on - my question is, is it always twice the level (so level 29 gives you +58% and level 31 gives you +62%), or are there actually thresholds every 10 levels (so level 29 gives you +40% and level 31 gives you +60%)?

Take note that booster pack drops are distributed to random players and higher drop rate doesn't mean that you'll automatically get a lot more drops. For me the intervals between drops can vary from 2 weeks to 2 months.

Just to add:

If the base chance is .01% and you get to 100% increase (Level 50), you now have a .02% chance at a booster pack.

So a 500% increase would only get you .06% chance for a booster.

I say this to avoid confusion as many assume you actually get 100% change for a booster to drop and not just a 100% increase of the base chance.

Keep in mind I do not know the actual base chance, the above was simply used as an example.

I see this topic pop up regularly. Steam has never produced the details around what that base chance is. And they probably never will. Whatever that base number is just assume it is not a high percentage chance. To put it in context, at my level and the number of qualifying games I get on average 2 booster packs a week. But note this is just an average. So there are many factors that figure into the equation of whether you get a drop or not. Bottom line is it is a very small chance that fractionally improves as you increase your level.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I'm not asking about the base chance; I'm just asking if there are thresholds every 10 levels for the bonuses, or if the bonuses go up by 2% every level. I'm just curious because I recently hit level 30 and I was wondering if I got bumped up from +40% to +60%, or if I was already at +58% before hitting level 30. I can't even remember the last time I got a booster pack...

it is next to negligible. My steam level is 64, i don't even get 1 booster pack drop in every 3 to 5 months.

It goes up by fractions of a percent.

You need more games with cheap cards.

plutone00 answered that and linked to the FAQ in the first post.

When someone makes a badge, it will create a booster pack.

So it depends on if people are making badges for the game you qualify for, how many badges, and how many others qualify.

There are many factory, hence why it is so random as to when people will even get one.

Based on their wording, it should be the latter (increment only every 10 levels).
It is so rare, i only remember booster packs when i read a topic about it.
And when it really happens, its some pennies.
