Looking for a base building game
Hi, I am looking for a new base building sandbox game where you can manage the base in certain departments. Preferably, the games that I can manage security team (or being militarized but not RTS) and has either FPS, TPS, or bird-eye view (don't care much about the graphic as long as it's fun).

For example (as far as I know), here are the games that would be qualified into the list:

-Jurassic World Evolution (already owned)
-Fallout 4 (already owned)
-ARMA III (already owned)
-Kingdom (already owned)
-State of Decay 2 (already owned)
-The Division (already owned)
-Subnautica (already owned)
-ARK survival (already owned)
-Surviving on Mars (already owned)
-Project Zomboids (already owned)
-Unturned (already owned)
-RUST (not owned)

As you can see that the games can be varied and in many themes, but they share the same base-building or base-management system more or less.

So, does anyone have suggestions? I'm looking forward to it :)

*CURRENT SUGGESTIONS*

-7 Days to Die [2]
-Metal Gear Solid V [2]
-Mist Survival
-Medieval Dynasty
-Frost Punk
-Star Bound
-The Forest
-Planet Zoo/Coaster
-Two Point Hospital

Metal Gear Solid 5. Base buildinging on oil platforms and competing against the bases of other players. Though you are really late to jump into that game, but there is still a small online playerbase.

this +1

Planets...which are really just gigantic bases.

There are quite a few starbase builders but for the life of me, I can't think of their names right now.

Also, google the ultimate base builders...they're not pretty but they're free:
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead
Dwarf Fortress

I heard both of them but didn't give time to check on them thoroughly. Thanks :)
Not a problem. I try to be REALLY careful about recommending games, as empathy is everything to me.

For that reason I'll only suggest games when people like yourself give us a pretty clear understanding what they're after.

If I had to choose just one, I'd definitely say 7 Days to Die for a number of reasons (if it helps at all).

If you like or have liked Minecraft but wanted something that has largely the same mechanics but is a bit more realistic, then this it. Since I started playing 7 Days to die on console, I haven't really touched Minecraft.

But it's better on PC (because console development fell into that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of telltale games packing up and cannot receive any more development due to cost). Not only does it offer this as basically the pinnacle of survival/crafting, but the devs are slowly and surely still adding really good updates. Alpha 20 is just around the corner.

Basically, what I love about the game now is not that it's just like Minecraft, so you have pretty much all that mechanically, but every 7 days is BloodMoon where you get a a whole nighttime of hordes of zombies you have to fight off. It lends really well to using that intervening 7 days to repair your base, and prepare new fortifications for the next one. You have things like electrical systems and gun turrets now, which mean you can essentially create a kind of tower defence style approach.

I tend to create a base and wall it all around, but leave one side accessible with a door, and long sinuous walkway to get there. Zombies go for this and I pepper the gun turret along the route.

If this sounds appealing to you, then I suggest you go for it. It will suck HOURS out of your life though ;)
Your recommendation makes me feel absolutely need to get this game. I'm very grateful, cheers!

I tried Rimworld but it maybe too complicated for me because I messed up the game and couldn't continue the story. For Project Zomboid, I tried this and wasn't sure whether it was my PC spec or not, but the game ran quite badly. Still, thanks for the choices.

I try to offer as best advice as I can. Hope it suits you as I think it will.

Pro tip - Iwas just checking out some of the bundle stores and it's on sale over at the Humble Bundle store (-66% for me in UK).
