Does forums ban are on a ladder, a bit like CS GO cooldown *,

Hello,

out of curiosity, are forums bans on a ladder, a bit like CS GO cooldown are ?
Like : you get one for lets say 1 day, if you get one after that it will be 1 week.
now : if I get another one in like 1 year, will it be 1 week too ?

Does steam communicate on that ?

(not that I plan to stack those nor abuse the system, just out of curiosity)

No, bans are at the discretion of the mod along with their length in regards to the offence. You can be permanently banned at the very first time or you may end up having 3 bans on record yet still be able to contribute once the latest one expires.

Keep in mind that your previous warnings and cooldowns will be taken into account when judging a current case.

Yes and no. There is a soft guideline to follow a ladder process, but there are always exceptions based on what what was done (and how severe it was, eg: death threats may earn a permanent ban on first offense), how often it is done and how long it has been since the last action.

The soft ladder would be:
Warn
Ban one day
Ban three day
Ban seven days
Ban thirty days
Ban permanently

It still depends on the moderator. If the moderator is honest, it is unlikely that it will reach the third ban, only if you are not understanding.
If the moderator is dishonest and bought, he won't even give you a word, he will ban for no reason, and it doesn't matter if there is a ladder or not. I've seen this before.
