Good horror games that are not focused on jump scares
But rather atmospheric horror, psychological horror, etc.. Jump scares are fine I guess, but when the game is focused on it, it becomes predictable and just does not work for me.

so yeah, suggest some stuff for me! Getting some ideas for stuff to play as we get closer to.. what was it again? Oh yeah. Getting some ideas for stuff to play as we get closer to Thanksgiving.

"In Sound Mind" is supposed to be good. I was going to give it a try...if you're looking for that "psychological thriller" vibe instead of "boo! scared ya" vibe

I've played Amnesia: Dark Descent, Machine for Pigs, those don't seem to have many jump scares. The fear I had playing those games was running from demon things, with nothing but my lantern (which you cannot use as a weapon).

SOMA doesn't technically rely on jumpscares but rather, atmospheric tension as well.

Visage and Horror Tales: The Wine, were also suggested, and also good.

Just to add that with SOMA too, the odd points where you are chased by something and can be a little annoying if you haven't remembered the way out, can be mitigated by choosing the easy mode.
