Who gave me awards

Hi all can anyone tell me an easy way to find out why I got awards and who from. I noticed on my profile I've been given 5 awards but can't see a way to find out anything about them ? I'm sure there must be an easy way but I can't see it. Who gave me these awards and why.

There’s nothing to indicate which user awarded you, but IIRC, provided you’re signed into Steam on browser, you can follow a link from the email notification to see which content was awarded.

No way to tell besides someone outright saying they gave you an award.

Valve stopped letting us know who sent them in October 2020. It used to have their name that was also their profile link in the email.

So can't even say thanks ! Wow, doesn't seem right. Can you set your account so people can't give them to you ?

Only profile awards specifically, if it is set to friends only or private.

Public content can be awarded by anyone.

Unless you also want to friends only or private all your User Generated Content.

Your forum posts can be awarded by anyone so long as the post is not in a locked thread or it was deleted.

You can't stop people from awarding you, but...

You can hide the awards in your profile settings
You can disable emails about awards in you email settings.

Thats what I do.

How does that stop a non-friend from awarding other community content, cause I know that can be done on posts, screenshots on game discussion boards and guides, and content like that. I know non-friends can do all that cause I've done it.

If someone drops money in the tip jar you don't go seeking who put the money in there, or in this case free steam points.
If you really wish to know try adding a note in your profile bio or comments, someone might comply.
