Pick one game that are very popular and highly rated by fans and media that you don't like?

I would like you guys to pick ONE game that are very successful and a lot of people love including games media. Game of the year or just game of the year contenders. However for some reason you feel like you are on an island because you just can't get into that game no matter how many people try to convinced you it is good. It is a controversial take because many people will not get why you don't like such a game because I am sure people love it. I am sure people have many games that are popular that they dont like but you have to just pick one. For me wait for it..........

Skyrim.

Yes ladies and gents. Don't have a heart attack but I spend about 40 hours into skyrim but never so called "finish" it or even pass hour 50 because I was bored out of my mind. Yes I understand the revolutionary game it was. Yes I understand how it can be considered a master peace. I just for some reason was bored out of my mind playing that game and I gave it 40 hours worth. You might think I am only into multiplayer or shooters or action games or sports games only but no, I love RPG and adventure games and open world games. I have plenty of my own favorite open world games that are popular also. I think the reason why I was not into skyrim because I like games that have a point to it. I guess I don't like "sandbox" open world type games where you have to create your own fun. Anyway, that is mine. I am the 2% of people who doesn't like Skyrim.

CS:GO, Dota 2, and basically all kinds of Anime / Hentai or Photonovel games.

I have no idea how people are able to enjoy those.

About Skyrim... well i enjoyed it for the exploring part, trying to find all the places on the map. But i didn't really pay attention to the story.

Better known games in 2021 with "Overwhelmingly positive" and a thumb-down from me might be "Bioshock Infinite" or "Batman Arkham City".

Skyrim,

bethesda in general is overrated and can't create good games. Mods are the reason even exist (still).
Skyrim world is boring as heck, Story is boring, RPG stuff is boring (hey look I can get everything to 100) and so on.

Quite the same could be applied to Fallout 3/4, I enjoyed New Vegas (granted it was "made" by Obsidian)

I gotta echo here...

Skyrim bored the crap out of me. Yes, I played through it, realized that I didn't in fact have the version with any of the dlc so meh, whatever? There's a line between "integrated lore" and "jesus stop talking please and show me what I need to kill for you".

I love fallout 4, love it a LOT. I know it's far from perfect and I know a lot of people hate it for the same reasons I adore it lol.

But also above: bioshock infinite indeed... that was. certainly a game. It almost managed to redeem the really bad writing and concepts it kept brutalizing (I write nothing but alternate universe stuff - I have written nothing but alternate universe things *since around 1980* - their handling of it is so bad I wanted to throttle them for it)... Almost managed, but not quite, with the dlc. They have zero concept of subtle storytelling, I mean we get it - bad people are bad, money is bad, people are crappy. Stop slapping me over the head with it please?

I don't think it's that controverial to not like Skyrim.

There are plenty who don't and there are also lots of people like myself, who played it for 100's of hours back in the day and enjoyed it but who also realise it is a very flawed game.

The sense of exporation, freedom and adventure was great if you enjoy open world games. But as an RPG it's all so shallow and pointless and the longer you play it the more you realise none of your actions ever really matter....

Fallout 4 however, i hate it. I always feel like Bethesda just don't 'get' Fallout and their games just get it wrong.... and I found none of the joy in exploring that world that I did with Skyrim.

Any of the recent Assassin's Creed games. The last 3 have literally been the same game reskinned with incredibly dumbed-down mechanics and nauseating open-world game design. If they cut out two-thirds of the world size in these games, removed all the filler and focused on an engaging narrative, then it would be a different story. The world's are too big, the story is usually spread far too thin and the XP-gating makes these titles exhausting. Once you've played 20 minutes, you've literally seen all there is on offer.

I think battle royale games are boring as skill doesn't matter as much as other uncontrollable factors such as loot RNG.

Because everyone has more than one but the hard part is to pick one. Thats the game But you can squeeze in another game if you want

that is exactly why I dont like skyrim. I love RPG because you get to play a role hense the name but the more I play it the more I realized there is no point to all of this. The progression doesn't make sense. The leveling up doesn't make sense. Sure you can go to places as far as the eye can see but why spend time going to that place? I like open world games rpg that can give you stuff to do that actually matters. Like side missions that have a good story or main missions that makes you feel something. Story is horrible and I know its not about the story when I jump into Skyrim but if its not about the story whats the point of having any characters at all? Seeing a dragon was cool but if there is not conciquences of that dragon to be there why would I care to kill it? Its not like he is one of the main boss that is part of a narrative. Anyway I can rant all day about why I hate skyrim but thanks for understanding especially from a skyrim lover like yourself.

I also dont like Fallout games except New Vegas,.
