We won't.

Ubi left Steam a while ago.

They never left. Neither did EA.
You can still purchase their back-catalogue. That's not leaving. Also Ubisoft recently released a game on Steam.
They just stopped releasing their new games on Steam on release. They might as well bring them here after some time.

"Left" the same way Activision-Blizzard did.

This has stopped me from purchasing the game. Nothing epic does will sway me to use their garbage platform and that one puts uplay to shame. I'm sure that breaks ubi's heart lol but I don't want a bunch of game platforms on my pc that need updated all the time.

Even if you could purchase it on Steam, you'd still need Uplay anyway. Can just as well purchase it on Uplay then.
It might seem petty to some but I like the steam achievements and being able to leave reviews.

Your beef is with epic and not uplay, so no reason not to buy the game on uplay. But to be honest here, your limiting your gaming enjoyment by solely sticking to steam tho.

It's not petty, if you enjoy playing games for achievements I would say that's a valid reason but I don't agree with the part about reviews tho.
Dunno if it's just on Uplay, or if Steam will get it at some point. Seems like a dumb move only having it on their own platform.

Epic and Uplay. 2 places.

Epic gave them a better deal I guess. Not surprising tbh.
Interesting business practices.
I am curious how much money they are making from the Epic store. I was reading something that said they pay all these companies full price for the games they give away for free. Total War: Troy was given to 7.5 million people making it one of their fastest selling games. That is something I can see a dev team drooling over but I wonder how games like valhalla fair on sales.
