FPS drop from 60+ to 40 or 45 in full screen
Hi everyone

First post, don't really know if this goes here. The thing is, games not on steam work perfectly fine on full screen (60+ fps all the time), but every steam game on full screen won't go over 45 fps. Borderless window or windowed modes works perfectly fine, but full screen always gets capped at 45 fps.

I'll leave my specs below in case you guys need them

AMD Ryzen 7 1700
AMD Radeon R9 380 Strix (4GB)
Ram Gskill Flare X 16gb 3200 mhz
Motherboard AX 370 Gaming K5

:teddy_talk: There is another forum that is invaluable in regards to hardware, software and all that encompasses gaming goodies.

Before you visit there, some preliminary questions.

Is this problem game specific or does this happen to all your Steam games? If it does, do you have other non-Steam games, say something like Starcraft 2 and do these non-Steam games share these selfsame issues?

Perhaps, this issue could be your monitor(s), do you have a 2-3+ monitor setup.
Is it a curved widescreen, what brand is it and what type of connect do you have?
I remember one guy had gone through a ton of troubleshooting and it turned out he forgot to mention his connect was a YPbPr to a generic HDMI adapter :D

If you don't use a monitor, for myself it depends on where I am at if I want to game, I'll play a game off my laptop or plug it into the usual 65" TV, or I'll use a nifty desktop with a projector.

I bought a large TV a couple months ago and there was noticeable lag on all my games (PC and console) apparently, that tele was faulty and I exchanged it and thereafter, my Steam and console games play beautifully and smooth.

I only have this issue with Steam games. Others (like League Of Legends) work perfectly fine on full screen, just checked to make sure.

Single monitor setup. It's a 24'' regular led monitor, with hdmi monitor.

I don't think it's a monitor issue, because as I said before, all non steam games run smooth (even games like Among Us, which don't require great hardware to run are stuck at 40 fps on full screen).
