Why does it say "this purchase failed steam was not able to accept payment from your payment provider"
Im trying to buy halo 3 odst, i have enough money, i've never moved countries, i've used this card before on steam to make purchases so I have no clue why it's not working. I looked online and all that came up was stuff saying you need to be in the same country as your billing address or something, all i can think off is my account was hacked from some place in asia last month so that might be causing some trouble?

Visit your account details, click on country for store, and see what country it set to.

Also if it say Steam can't accept your payment method, this mesns something wrong with that payment method, if they support bank transfer such as PayPal, paysafe or etc, and your payment method support those bank transfer then use them instead.

If want can try contacting support for more help with your account issue.

Steam help section > My account > Data related to my account > scroll to the bottom click on contact support, then explain your issue they reply to you in a day or two.

I would use paypal but i am 15 and here in Australia where I am you have to be 16 to use it legally so i don't want to do that, i'll go check where my store is set at in my account settings

If all else fails try loading your steam wallet then purchasing the game, or using a steam gift card.

If any detail mismatches, it could cause an issue like that. If it's not your payment method, someone could've blocked the transaction as well.

As a other stated, make sure your location is correct before making a purchase.

Loading my steam wallet? What does that mean? Does that mean adding like $5 to my account then trying to buy the game from there?

Yes, add money from your bank or another card - not the one you're trying to use. To your wallet. Use your wallet then to buy this product.

Also, one thread was enough.

It means exactly what it means:
https://store.steampowered.com/steamaccount/addfunds/

You add however much you need if the payment method itself isn't working just for a checkout, that link will allow you to see if the issue follows the payment method entirely or not. If you're unable to do that; is it your payment method, or does it belong to someone else? As again, someone could be blocking Steam from making purchases, if it belongs to them.

Else, buy a Steam Gift Card at a store; in some regions they're sold at Gas stations, grocery stores, electronics stores that sell pc/video games, and other well-known stores.

I think my debit card or debit cards in a whole might of just been banned in a whole because my mothers paypal worked completely fine

You aren't supposed to be using anyone else's money.

There's always more to these stories than is first told...

It's probably mosdt likely the debit cards of yours you used were not set up to do online purchasing.

That commonly happens especially with new younger account holders. It's quite common for new debit cards to be distributed with limited features and no abaility to use online. Typically, you'd ring your bank up and ask them to enable it. Then it should be good.

On top of that, there is a security thing that banks will do if they get a load of dodgy purchases on a certain site. They temporarily auto-block, so that might be the case too.

In any case, normally the best procedure going forward is to ALWAYS talk to your bank first - they are the ones best suited to tell you exactly what's going on.

I have setup my card to allow online purchasing and purchases from over seas and I have used it to buy stuff on steam a few months ago so the only thing I can think of that would of made me unable to do it is my account being hijacked and banning debit cards/visa on my steam account

Bieng hijacked wouldn't cause that though necessarily.

It's easy to see if anyone has access to your account. First check your purchase history to see if there's anything in there that you haven't bought. Then check your API key thus:
Note this part in particular:

"Revoke Steam Web API Keys. If your account is scammed, the API key is obviously in the fraudsters’ database. So visit your user’s page on Steam, call back your current API key, and let Steam generate a new one instead. Take up the habit of regularly changing your Steam Web API Key to ensure your account is safe and not exploited by cybercriminals. Here you can revoke and re-generate your keys. "

If neither of those show anything then it's not likely anyone has access except you.

However, you have said you set it up for another country. Due to changes on Steam in recent months, you MUST do the following - have both your address, and your payment method registered in the same country and then you can only buy from that country's store.

So if you're trying to do other than that, there's your problem./

How would I check my api key? Like tell what mine is?
