STEAM REMOVING NEXUS MODS LINKS FROM A GUIDE

Apparently, Steam and it's moderators (or at least some of its moderators) are removing links to Nexus mods - specifically those which are embedded links. They have done so in the guide "A Starter Load Order Basics+ for Skyrim SE 2020" - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1986067552

In this guide, an ESSENTIAL guide listed in the the pinned topic Helpful Links and References in the Skyrim Special Edition Forums, EVERY SINGLE LINK to Nexus has been removed, as well as links SKSE (Silverlock). Yet links like PCGamer and YouTube have been left untouched. The guide has had, as of this date, over 14000 unique visitors, over 1000 favorites, and a five star rating base upon 307 ratings. Yet, Steam and it's moderation staff saw fit to remove all links to Nexus- thus rendering the guide useless. And the only response from Steam support was "links containing certain URLs are removed to eliminate phishing"

If we cannot post links to an ESSENTIAL site like Nexus mods - or if this rule is JUST be applied to this particular guide, there is something seriously wrong.

And if this can happen to one Steam Guide it can happen to others.

So many assumption, with out even asking if it is in error first....

I'm looked into it and can't find it blacklisted, so I assume it has something to do with the new filter. I'll let someone know so it can be fixed.

Is it filter being silly, or could it be formatting? I can not check Vlad's source right now, but he is telling me it is straight.

Filter must have gone nuts. I will have to check my own guides and threads.

More then the nexus links. I see the 7-zip and others as well.

That doesn't mean you are not making assumptions. Support doesn't deal with the filter at all. Valve does and we moderators let them know of issues.

No one is removing the links either, it is an automated system. They are being filtered by the URL filter. As I said, they recently updated their filter system and are still working out issues like this, where sites not added are being filtered.

Correct. I have let those at Valve know, though they may not get the message until Monday.

Yea, as requested posting here that all non-Steam or Youtube links in my guide have been deleted. Discord, Silverlock, ENB Dev, and Nexus.

You can let it be and Valve will fix the issues as soon as they can.

Filtered, not deleted. They are still there, just hidden by the system.

When the issue gets fixed, they will go back to normal.

Thank you, big sigh of relief here as there are probably a thousand links in my guide. Rebuilding it would be a major pain. Checking my source now to be sure.
