at least at my workplace that would be considered nsfw content. But maybe Im overthinking that.
And it only shows up in the list of games that "friends" recently played. I cant look it up with the regular search functions. So my assumption is that its a buggy feature.
Because the are people who buy them, thought it was cute at first, hell even I started to buy a few, but now I'm more eeh about them since the sheer number of adult games on this site are now mostly just low effort "here be the bewbs" kind of games. (not even going to touch the general I.Q of most of the players in those communities)
also the filer does "work"... when the devs label it correctly I see the obvious eroge game that's only an eroge game with a patch thats probably on the main forum show up here and there at but at least it block the straightforward ones
tbh: if kids are playing these kind of games well then that's their guardians fault, no kid has a self obtained income
I already do horror. That´s shameful enough, but still recommendable.
You go do the other thing, and then let us know what made them so popular.
It doesn´t seem like there are many interesting game-mechanisms in most of them, which would make them playable. Most graphics are also not very impressive. It all seems very simplistic to make. Maybe that´s why there are so many? Because they are easy to make? Or easy to play?
Like, many sort of seem to be using the same template.
Anyway, why would that be harmful for a kid to look at? Besides, it´s their parents responsibility.

Think of the children! Think of the parents!
Besides, putting guns and knives in every game. No, that´s safe!
What you want, is the Disney channel. No, that´s not PG3, either.
You would seriously end up with Teletubby stuff. Only that, is appropriate. And even that can be made to look inappropriate, from certain angles.
Most people dont want these things to show up simply because they have no interest in them.
Just like some people want to avoid other genres.
Also people like me HAVE to block such content simply because our policies say so. And yes I could just not have steam on my machine at work, but I have 1 hour breaks and I tend to use steam at times too so I and others have to block it.
There are many reasons why people dont want porn to show up on steam. Not just because of kids.
And even then, its the choice of the parents what they want their kids to see. Not ours.
(Also kids havent really been the subject here.)
A quick test shows that the game he mentioned DOES seem to be flagged. It tells me "This game is marked as 'adult only'. You are seeing this game because you have set your preferences to allow this content."
If you have the boxes ticked you have ENABLED IT. Learn to read. If you do not wish to see such content, DO NOT tick the box. Don't be a
It is flagged and shows the flag properly. It won't come up in Store search or on the recommended page if you do not have the option enabled.
It showing up on the list your friends recently played is not the same as it showing up in the Store at large. That list just shows the icons and names of the games. It even shows a banner "Excluded based on preferences" that crosses the icon for the game. If you try to go to the Store page from the list, you're greeted with the age gate and a clear warning that you have excluded such games.
(The first sentence of mine in my last reply was a typo btw. I switched to mobile and god lord is it weird to write on a phone...)
So you're complaining about seeing the name of the game?
Since I don't see anything offensive in the way they've implemented it now.

But it can still showup in mentioned list which is still a big issue.
