Co-op with my kids
I have a 13 year old daughter and a pair of 11 year old twins. I was hoping someone could recommend a few good games that we could all play together. They all have their own computers so split screen isn't needed. However, they are only Acer NItro 5 laptops with Ryzen 5 2500s, 8 GB Ram and AMD RX 560X 4GB graphics cards; so the games would have to be playable on those entry level systems. It's not 100% necessary, but my kids prefer to play with xbox controllers instead of mouse and keyboard, so games with native support for controllers would be better. The only one we have is Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and they we all had fun playing through that. Thank you for any suggestions.

Try this one
https://store.steampowered.com/app/360170/How_to_Survive_2/

Other 4 player co-op games
Human Fall Flat
Road Redemption
Forced
Overcooked 2
Rocket League
Don’t Starve Together
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Grand Theft Auto V (Online)

You could also try some first person games that support controllers. But it's much harder to play FPS games with controller than with mouse and keyboard

Serious Sam games
Borderlands games
Killing Floor
Left4Dead2
Payday 2

Or you could try something like "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes"

Awwwww, so sweet hearing parents playing with there kids :winter2019happyyul:

Grim dawn is one where it's an MMO like game where there are healing and fighting and summoning type of class. You vs monsters of all kind. But I don't know about controller support.

Terraria and Starbound are great games where you start with nothing and mine resources and find items to make you stronger and craft better things too! This one might offer controller support honestly.

Lego games are great for controller support and or for your kids too. Some really good LEGO games out there. Don't know about separate screens tho.

Stardew valley is another great one. Farming game and just a peaceful game where they can fish, grow crops, raise animals, and more. There is story and lore and it's a cute and fun game to play over all.

Risk of rain I think is co-op. Really fun and I prefer to play with a controller. But it kinda has tank controls too so you might enjoy that.

Gmod is another game you guys could play. Sandbox is usually perfered. But usually gets boring after a bit.

I have more but those are what I have or thought about so far. Hope this helps! :2018bestcoffee:

Here are three that my wife, 10/yo and I like to play.

We have found them to be kid friendly and provide hours of fun, as well as have used them to teach logic and reasoning skills.

human fall flat
terraria
minecraft
sonic racing transformed
the sims
just about any lego game is co-op

brothers tale of two sons
As much as I love the game, Brothers would be extremely awkward to play as a coop game since both brothers are handled by the same controller (I.E. big brother uses left stick and trigger, little brother uses right stick and trigger)
I'm leaning towards left 4 dead 2 because of the co-op focus and Star Wars Battlefront II because they do love those movies. I'm prolly gonna keep adding games to the list and see what is cheap in a couple weeks with summer sale.
If they're into racing games you can currently get GRID Autosport and Toybox Turbos for 1€ on Humble Bundle.

It's not co-op but you'll still be playing together.

do you know that for the most games every kid needs his own account and you have to buy the game 4 times

That should be obvious.

But there's a workaround for some games.
If game can be played cooperatively on LAN without needing interrent connection then you can family share from one account to other 3.
Just open Steam on all 4 PCs, disconnect the Router from the internet and everyone will be able to launch the game and play together on local network.
