Locking up achievements using SAM
That's right. I'd like to lock some achievements using SAM to earn them again. I used SAM for that exact purpose maybe 3 years ago, but I'm not certain whether it would be safe now.

Does anyone know anything regarding the above. Is it safe? Maybe in offline mode? I just don't want to get any problems or shameful banners on my profile.

If it's a game without any kind of anti-cheat implementation such as singleplayer games you should be safe, there will be nothing that could possibly mistake it for a cheat.

Resetting them using SAM is a popular method for all achievement speedruns in many games and I have no memory of anyone getting trouble for that!

Yeah I'm going to lock up achievements in Skyrim. Everything should be all right, then. Thanks homie.

SAM don't cause VAC bans unless developers, for example Payday 2, might ban players via game bans. There is no evidence VAC could ban and has never worked.

You're free to lock up achievements, but do not use it on few games such as Payday 2 the developers may ban, although there is a remove function (for example, TF2 has remove achievements button).

Another thing is SAM usage can break achievement showcase numbers like this https://imgur.com/a/nFBljfJ

As already stated, the only thing you should do to make certain is to check each particular games' agreement. If it has anything in there which might lean towards it being a breach of contract, avoid using it on that.

Other than that, you should be good.

Achievements don;t affect other users, and they can't possibly tell how you got them, except unless they study and find something impossible in there.

That's the thing some people don't seem to grasp, as I was trying to tell someone his a few days ago - even if you know someone uses SAM, you CANNOT know which they've used it on or when. So it cant possibly affect you.

They stopped that a while back.

I didn't either. The mod in that game hub had to point us to it.
